my idea is to take something like saran-wrap and cut it out in the shape of the lens on the mask, but have small tabs sticking out so that if you get hit in the mask or get sprayed you can just peel it off.
tell me what you think
or if you have somthing you could add to my idea please post

Those actually used to be sold somewhere... it was a few years ago, but they did exist.

It is a good idea, but I like getting my mask all clean so cleaning the lens is no biggy. I would also hate to waste a peel just for some spray. Usually spray on my lens never bothers me, I just look passed it and then clean it once I get off the field with some water.

They do make those for helmets in dirt track racing. My friend uses em, I thought about making something like that.

They are called tear off's. They used to be made, but they are relatively weak. They failed ASTM testing and were halted in manufacturing.

yeah, you'd be better off buying spray for 7.49, because you'll be able to clean your mask WAY more than 10 times...

because wiping scratches your lens Really bad,
and it would still have that thin layer of paint.
I have been trying other things like clear plastic bags, i tried taping them to the mask, it didnt work that good.

whiping doesn't scratch your lense... it only scratches on the inside of thermals if you don't know what you're doing... just use microfiber cloth to clean inside.
these things are made to stop a 200mph projectile, i'm pretty sure they can hold up to cloth.

because...its a really thin sheet of plastic thats made to be spattered with mud...imagine what a paintball would do to a stack of thode..it would deform the entire stack, making them useless.and wiping the outside of a lens wont hurt it...

It had nothing to do with the ASTM, they were unpopular and banned from tournament usage as well as many fields as it gave players the opportunity to "wipe" shots from their lenses before a ref saw them. They didn't even need to be put through ASTM testing as they were used as an overlay over the ASTM tested lenses on the masks. You can still find them, but they really aren't worth it. I only used them when playing woods ball in places with a lot of brush, and thus, a lot of spray. They tended to fall off easily, and also cut down the ammount of light that entered the lens, which was detrimental in deep woods play.

Motocross and dirt track racers use those for their helmets. Its just like a post it only sticky on the sides. Plus when you are hit in the mask it ussually goes all over your mask not just the lens. Good Idea.
