*** Edit *** Cocker pic!

I have 2 new markers... the first one is a Works Cocker with an E-Blade that I pumped out with a CCM pump kit and a translucent green pump handle.   It works fantastic and if you want to switch to semi... it takes about 5 minutes to put the pneumatics back on.   Oh, and since it is an E-Blade, I don't have to re-time it... it is good to go!   Unfortunately, I don't have a picture yet... I'll try to grab a camera from someone here at work and snap a pic in the shop.

***EDIT*** PICTURE OF THE EBLADED PUMP!!!

The newest addition arrived last night...  a Planet Eclipse Nexxus Dark Trooper.   I like it alot!   LOL!

Let me verify it for you... I've owned 6 of them (2K2, GZ, Empire, Storm, Ripper and Russian Legion) and everyone of them went down at some point.   3 fried boards, 2 smoked solenoids, LPR problems, broken barbs.   But hey, you go ahead and read pbreview and base your decision to purchase a marker based on that.   Oh and BTW, if you happen to find these $1600 markers for $1000, buy 10 and we'll sell them and split the profits.

I don't bash markers lightly... e-retards I'll bash all day long, but I won't bash a marker without having personal experience.

** Edit**  PS... sorry if I sound a little put out, how would you react if you just bought one of the elite markers in the world and someone made that comment?

I wasn't saying your marker was bad at all, I was just saying what I would have done, I am not too "knowledgable" on Planet Eclipse guns, But I have used Intimidators and love them. You're gun looks great, that's a given, performance I don't know about, that's why I was saying that I (I) would have gotten a Intimidator. But I do have a quick ? You seem to know alot about high-end electros.... I hear alot of people saying Angels are bad now.. what do you think? (I'm thinking about buying one) and I apologize if I offended you, I wasn't trying to I was just stateing what I would have done based on my experiance.

^^ Understood... my experience with the newer Angels has been all positive.   I was a huge fan of the "older" 2k1 style Angels with the .45 grip before the iR3 and Speed came out with the 90* frame.   Back in the day a Dark Angel with a Revvy was THE killing machine for front/mid guys.

In my opinion, WDP went through a dark period with the Speed and the Angel 4.   They lost alot of customers with these markers, I would imagine that this was partially due to the success of the Matrix and Intimidator that became their direct competition.   Their quality came back with the G7 (my stepson shoots an Arsenal G7) and after messing around with their new Angel One on Saturday, I think you can place them back on the list as one of the best brands in the world.

Angel 1 is their newest Angel correct? And I think $300 is kinda...well you could get an Ion.. but if you spend $600 you get the amazing ShOckEr!...still, if I had an Angel, I don't think I could round up the courage to take it out on the field...

Yeah.. I like the G-7's alot.... but this new Angel 1 is supposed to be completly slimmed down, only weigh like two pounds, stuff like that... basically it's supposed to be the lightest, sleekest, most advanced angel yet...then again, every new angel is classifed as the "lightest, sleekest, most advanced angel yet" lol

^^ The A1s seem to shoot great, but they are little small for my hands.

blonde... I know how you feel.   But that is what they are made for.   Dirt and paint can be cleaned off... and the anno is suprisingly hard to damage.

intimidators are a pain...  you have to oil and clean them out every 1,000 shots...  and people say cockers are hard to maintain...

but anyway, nice ego.  though i don't like the term "dark trooper"...  looking foward to seeing the sniper though...

Revo, those aren't even true electros. They are called electromechanical. They just use a 'noid and battery to trip a mechanical sear. True electros, or electropneumatics, use air to open and close the valve instead of tripping the sear.

Do NOT just jump from a sear-tripper to an Angel. You'd really have no idea how to work the thing or maintain it. I suggest starting off with a lower end true electro, like Promaster, Ion, Impulse or old 'Trix.

What is your reasoning for trying an Ion or a Shocker instead of going straight to an Angel?   Are you worried about getting used to a high end?   For a recommendation, I would say shoot everything you can get your hands on and see what fits you.   It may actually be that a Shocker is the gun for you.   The two main criteria for a new marker are:

1... what do YOU like

2... Budget

PB Markers are like anything else in life.   Don't over extend yourself.  If you like the A1 and can afford it... then why wait?   Go for it.   Coming from shooting modified mid-end markers, you will love it.   Just understand that you will be going through ALOT more paint without realizing it.

I said what I said because I've actually seen that. Some kid bought an Angel and literally had no idea how to use it. I'm sure you'd figure out eventually, but it just doesn't make sense to me...

Well here's my problem... I really don't ever get a chance to try guns out. I can hold them and stuff at the PB Store.. but honostly, on the field, EVERYONE has either a 98c, or an Ion... I've only seen ONE high-end gun there and that was some Dye gun...I like Ion but man...it's so light..I like to feel like I am actually carrying something (A-5) but with the Ion it's almost weightless to me....I guess I'll ask the store manager and see if I can test out their new Shocker... If I get an Ion though I'll wait until the newer models ship out to my local store.

Robo... come on... Sunday is my play day this weekend.

DeT... thats just the stupidity of being a gunwhore.   I bought the Ego from someone that needed cash badly.   So I got a great deal and only got it as an investment.   Buying and Selling guns is much more fun than watching my E*Trade account!  LOL!

Blonde... give me a description of your size.   I agree with you about small guns.   I like a little bit of weight.   Would you have an issue with buying a used gun?   If you would buy a used gun, what would be your budget?   Do you have a PayPal account?   Do you already have a tank?   High pressure or LP output?   Halo or VLocity (you'll need one)?   Answer as much as you can and I'll try to recommend something that fits your characteristics and budget both new and used.

I'm about 250pounds... 6'00, I used to have a Paypal not anymore. I don't have an HP or LP tank, I have an Evolution 2 Hopper (which I hate) no issue with buying a used gun as long as it's actually good (I would want to test it first) budget would be $200-400

Since you are decent size... I would seriously ask you to check out a DM4.   I bought one of the first ones out and it is still my first choice when I pull out the gun bag.

You can find them for <$400 now at PBNation or Flagstation.com... don't mess around with the extra boards.   The stock board is just fine.   Out of everything I have shot ib the past 6 years, the yardstick for measuring a marker is still my DM4.

Be very careful (obviously) if you decide to shop online.   99.5% of the deal are legit... but you still need to watch out for that 0.05%.  This is why I highly suggest a PayPal account and only pay to a verified member.   If you find something you like, pop my a PM with a link.   I usually am on Monday-Friday during the day.

I have owned a bunch of highend markers and they are still considered back ups... including the Dark Ego in the thread.

Sorry Rico, I have this carnival thing going all on this weekend. My church is having a paintball outing and I am still considering meeting you or owning all the people in my group. I think they are going to play at hit and run and that is something I really don't want to do unless the price is really good.

For reference, my DM5 gave me nothing but trouble today at my tournament. Broken paint all day, eyes malfunctioning, etc... could have been my reloader b was breaking the balls inside the breech, which it was, but it kind of ruined my day. Normally the DM5 works awesome, but today was just one of those days...

Anyway, nice guns rico. You got an autotrigger on that pump? How did you modify the E-Frame to work as a mech? Pics maybe?

-------------
///AMG What?

Posted By: Rico's Revenge
Date Posted: 09 October 2006 at 2:53pm

Whats Up Nick with a Q?   The E-Blade does not function as an auto-trigger.  It will trip the sear repeatedly if you desire to walk the trigger, but it won't fire until you pump the gun to set the sear.   There was no modification needed on the E-Blade as all.   Just unplug the Solenoid and remove the entire front block.   You can replace the Pneus in about 5 minutes and since it is electronic, it is not necessary to retime the marker.

As for your DM5... it really sounds like you were using brittle paint and your tension was set too high on your Empire B.   But, once you break paint in your hopper, you are pretty much screwed until you are able to disassemble your hopper to get it completely clean.   Otherwise your eyes will continue to get dirty and your hopper will continue to break paint.
