Well, I didn't want to make a thread about it, so this will do.
Hamlet, one of the better known travelling cigar rollers Havana House has touring the globe, spent his summer in Cananda this year.
He was in at the cigar store for a couple weeks. After touring Canada, he came back into Toronto for a few days and rolled something special for all the staff.
Behold:
That's a robusto box, to give you an idea of the size.

I guess I now have to get pictures of my dads Cuban Cigars and the "Cigar Box" which contains aprox 95-100 of them....meh, I'll post pics tommorow. I personally, only stick with low-grade "Swisher Sweets - Kings\Blunts" however I do have a Cuban every once in awhile. Not a bad cigar though.. try "Romeo and Juliets" they are very good for the price.

blonde, i'm not a big fan of romeos... i've smoked quite a few and i've only enjoyed one. someone mentioned graycliffs, those are good, but expensive. for a relatively cheap nice cigar, i suggest 5 vegas. you can get it in the states, and on http://www.cigarsinternational.com - www.cigarsinternational.com http://www.cigarsinternational.com -

Um... I would wait until you GET to Mexico before buying a Cigar. Havanas are legal there and very prevalent.
I gave my humidor to a friend last month. I lost interest in cigars. I usually only smoked them when I was out drinking. Now I don't go out as much and alot of bars are non-smoking. Plus since I don't smoke anything else (cigarettes) I hated the taste for the next 2 days... even with the light Fuentes.

Now White Owls are nice. As for a favorite / one I would recommened to others I would have to go with a MonteCristo White. Man that's a nice smoke, long and mild flavored, one of the few that doesn't leave that taste of crap in my mouth. If anyone has ever had one what did you think of the ash on that thing? That's a nice hand rolled cigar if I've ever seen one, bright white and long as hell if you leave it alone, I got one two go an inch and a half.

How much for a decent humidor with all the stuff you got impulse?
i'm going to the tobacco shop later today, i was just planning on getting a couple decent cigars, but how much was your humidor?
im trying not to get hooked on cigarettes at the moment, just smoke them when im really stressed cause its the only outlet that works for me at the moment.
so i figure why not smoke cigars on special occasions so its something to look forward to.

honestly, you can find humidors online for cheaper than you probably would at a cigar shop. I bought a humidor and 20 cigars for $80 and they were all great smokes. it came with two of each kind including graycliffs, montecristo whites, romeos, and a bunch others.

The humidor was $70, the digi was $30. Pretty pricey but didn't want to cheap out too much. You can get cheaper humidor's. I guess what your buying is how well they seal etc.
I saw some kalahua cigars. The damn things were $7. And figured your buying the name so I passed.

Just keep them in your bathroom. Put them on a plate or something that they can lie on. The moisture from daily showering will keep them in near perfect condition.

Buying humidors online will save money but you don't have the luxury to see the humidor in person and test the seals and whatnot. It's a pros and cons situation.
Kahluas aren't bad, they're Drew Estates. I have a friend who enjoys them but I was never a huge fan. I've never met a cigar that I didn't like though.

Instead of going with a humidor, another alternative is getting a Humi-Pouch.
It's essentially a zip lock bag with a built in humidification device. They have a life of 3 months.
They're great, I use them all the time.
We sell the large 'vintage' bag for 10$, which will fit most boxes. They have smaller ones aswell.
Also in the US, since the cigars are cello-wrapped, most tobacconists should have humi-packs. They look like little envelopes, and act as a temporary humidification devices, essentially turning a zip lock bag into a Humi-Pouch.
Just some general comments aswell. I agree with Carb, the non-Cuban Romeos were quite disapointing.
With regard to non-Cuban Montecristos, I wasn't blown away by the White brand. It was rather bland, didn't do anything for me. It's not that I don't appreciate mild cigars, some of my favourite Cubans are on the milder side of the Cuban spectrum, it's just there was nothing individual about it. Lacked depth and character.
Also, Graycliff
But I'll try not to get too involved in this thread.

you can make your own out of a wooden box... take a sponge wet it with warm water... make sure its just damp put it in the box should keep the cigars ok for ya... im sure unless you are buyin top grade stuff you wouldnt need something great... only if that cigar was filled with something else you could sell that for a lot of money

if you dont want to buy a humidor, you can make a coolidor, mini-frigador, or a tuperdor. for a tuperdor just get a tuperware container, put a humidification device in it, and you're set.
I got my humi for 19.99 off of humidorauctions on ebay. spanish cedar lined, cherry finish, and a good tight seal.
PCF- have you heard of the humidor beads? keeps your humi at a perfect humidity level, 60% 65% or 70% dpending on which beads you buy. check out http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/Home.htm - Heartfelt Industries .
for a good, relatively inexpensive smoke, try CAO. I prefer their Brazilia line, but the Italias are pretty good too.

i've heard of cao, but i haven't tried any yet. and I do know of the beads. there's a ton of different sizes and shapes of beads or gels that you can use.
