So, I was looking throuh iTunes and the window that says thier is updated software avaliable for me to download pops up, so I clicked download. I unplug it to find everyone of my songs erased, and when I plug it back in it won't show up as a source on iTunes. Help?

Reformat your iPod using the disk that it came with.

It's oh so true though, Zens beat the crap outta Ipods. Software reliability and device reliability is supreme in the ZEN compared to IPOD.

I have two Ipods.... a Nano and a Shuffle.. I used to have the the 20GB (orignal non-color). Then I found the Zen Microphoto....I like it alot better, it dosen't freeze up on me, software transfers are a breeze (Creative has their own software called Media Explorer which never really crashes) and of course, Creative knows music, hopefully everyone here knows the most popular.. and almost only PCI\PCI-E soundcard out there right? Sound-Blaster...made by Creative.
Anyway, Apple loves will be Apple lovers and most people that keep saying the Apple is awesome, haven't tried out Creative's ZEN line. The only two Zens I truely like though are... Zen Vision M, and Microphoto, which are both simply stunning.
And Tae...we all know you seem to have a "thing" for Apple. But I would also like to know how the Ipod beats the Zen Vison M? It's cheaper, comes with MORE stuff, has MORE colors and also plays multiple types of videos.. they don't have to be "Ipod Videos" like on the Ipod.
And also.. Tae, HV should not have to cap something for you.

I am gonna have to agree with reov on this one unfortunatly. Ive had an ipod for several years, and it was expensive in the first place(was a gift though) compared to most zens, it completely died, and they charged me 40 bucks to send me a new one..........my brother was in ireland for a music competition and he picked up an 8gig microphoto for a killer price, and its awesome, cheap, realiable, more features(microphone, fm radio), plus the fact that all apple accesories(sp) are so overpriced that it is not even funny, i mean hell, those prices are insane.........
creative ftw apple ftl

If you can make an iPod freeze up...That is impressive my friend.
I have had no issues with transfers. Converting files takes all of no time. Never once had iTunes crash. I love having Apple's support and customer service behind it too.
I have used a Zen. I thought they were ugly and clunky. Made me love my iPod that much more.

my ipod just died, reset didnt work, just died, and they charged me a ton to fix their broken thing.......thats true, i havent had problems with itunes cept that its really slow sometimes, and they do have FAST and EASY customer service if not reasonably priced.......
my brothers microphoto is so sexy, its tiny and sleek, looks better than the new nanos-those are too thin, id lose it in my pants, and wash it, like my friend did......

Tae...sorry buddy, but no matter what Ipod you got, Vision M and the Microphoto are going to kill it right now.. which is sad since the Microphoto\Vision M's are almost a year old, and are still a god-sends compared to current Ipods which are MUCH newer.

Wow.. you know market really means reliability and performance right? NOT. At the time that the IPOD became "uber" popular the Zen franchise wasn't even out, so IPOD had already taken off... that's like comparing PS1 marketing sales to Dreamcast, just don't do it. If you really want to compare, compare complaints at Apple based on Ipods to complaints to Creative about Zens. If you want to actually look it up, look up reviews. There are complete comparisions of the latest ZENS vs. the latest Ipods. The fact of the matter is, you are getting more out of your money if you buy a ZEN. But Ipods are advertised everywhere, heck at my mall we have TWO Ipod MACHINES! Just like a Soda Machine, but you buy an IPOD from it. Creative doesn't do that much advertising, so people don't know that much about their MP3 Players.
In the end, I will say the most reliable\sturdy\efficent MP3 Player maker out there.. is Iriver... it goes like this... Iriver-Creative-Apple-Samsung and so forth.

Why would I get a strike for this and why would they change my post count? I'm simply replying to Prodigy because he has everything mixed up backwards... he thought I was arugeing with Teh and the other guy.. I wasn't, I was agreeing with them, and disagreeing with Tae...so when Prodigy starts telling me to shutup and makes it obvious he didn't even read the debate...why would I ever listen to him? Tae... what was wrong about that? That's exactly what the guy from the "Geekbar" was showing people...And Tae.. I've already admitted to being wrong on the 360 think.. however my math WAS right (if it really was three dual-cores). However, as I know now, it is ONE "Tri-Core" Processor. And on to the Apple thing....I've always asked many people in person if they thought the DS Lite (White) looked like an apple product to them... so far I have yet to hear a "no" I'll keep quizzing people though. And also.. why is this even being brought up? We are on the ZEN subject now which many people here are agreeing, is a better buy than the Ipod.... don't know why you like to flip subjects, but ok. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996" title="1996 -

So just because no one else has posted their thoughts, you think he is the only person that thinks Zens aren't god's gift to nerds?
No. I would rather have my ipod than any Zen I have ever seen. Its not like it is hard to convert files, or takes very long. It is worth the money I paid for it, and I am happy with the choice I made.
Now insert some random experience a friend of mine had with his zen vision m and consider that proof that all ipods are superior to all zens ever made.
ever.

My god Revo, if that was the case... You should openly admit you have been wrong on nearly 95% of everything you have said.
I myself use RCA lyra's. However, I have used Zen, and Ipod. I like all of them for differing reasons. There is nothing "better" so to speak, about any of them. It is all user preference.
Though, Ipods are, normaly priced higher than every one else. On the flipside, they have amazing customer service.

Stealth\Apu, I'll admit it straight out, that on Apple products, I don't know much about them same with their computers, I can only go on experiance with them, same with the what I heard about the 360 before I saw one opened up (the so-called 3-dual-core).
If you are getting into true computers, PC (windows) I can easily safe I know a hell of alot more than you MOST of you guys do. I've built plenty, fixed plenty, and constantly stay up to date on the latest upgrades.
Saying I don't know much about computer when all I have been argueing about was the 360 (Console), Mac (Software), and an Ipod (Mp3 Player) is kinda stupid, because compared to a PC...no, just no.
I have personally compared (reminding me of the APEX VS FLATLINE BATTLE) the IPOD to the Zen Vision M, Ipod is thinner, and looks uber shiny. However I have had to many of those die on me (and everyone of those, I kept in those special "metal" cases and never dropped!) I have had many Ipods freeze up\crash, each time I had to reformat which in that case I lost all my music while I was on a trip, NOT FUN.
I have yet to experiance any problems with Creatives Mp3-player at all. Thier software is simplier, as their devices also contain more features than the IPODs they are each "matching" up to. Same with the price, you get more bang outta your buck with Creative, not to mention excellent customer service.
In the world of MP3 Players as of now, I will stick by these two devices.

the micro sucks. flat out, crappiest since the clunky nomads. hell the micro photo had a chance to beat the nano but it doesn't play music while browsing images. what the hell creative?
and by knowing more about computers, would the "most" you refer to be the computer literate ones here or just the average forumer still using IE?

Uh, MOST of you, I have idea about your knowledge HV, but I know Tae is more knowledge on MACS than PCS. And the Microphoto can play music while going through photos.. I did that plenty (It's also done by getting off your butt and updating the firmwire every once in awhile), just as you can listen to FM while doing that. I would like to know how they are clunky though.
