So I've noticed cribs and scenic videos and threads popping up, and I know a few people lift, so post your maxes.
This vid was from my max before last.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ws_jtUF1pe8 - http://youtube.com/watch?v=ws_jtUF1pe8
That was 250. I've done 260 since, but don't have a video.
And yes I arch. It's competition legal.
If anyone has a video post it, but if not I'm just curious to hear maxes. This is my first video on youtube. I did it for another forum, but knew Cedric and a few others here lifted so I figured why not.

What timing.
Baseball started going to the weightroom about a month and a half ago, and i had never really lifted before. Max right now is 150. Believe it or not when i started i was at about 130. So I'm moving up pretty quick. I'm gonna start hitting the weightroom on the weekends.

I don't lift weights very often. I just basically do pull-ups. i will do push ups every now and then, but not very often. I will go see what my max is on my bench real quick.

And I know I have zero abs. This is due to zero ab workouts. I'll start here soon.

I can do 160 with a bof weight of 130. That is fine with me. I might could pull off a little more if I wasn't tired from working all night building stuff. My weight system is maxed out at 160 because I don't have any more weights right now.

Yeah, I want to be able to bench 150% of my bodyweight. I weigh 190 and bench 260, so I'm only 25 lbs away.

Your avatar actually made me lol.
But yeah, the longer you lift the better off you are. I'm sure he will eventually start dropping, but that doesn't really suprise me.
Everyone has to start somewhere... 260 isn't even good to alot of people.

I only messed around in the "lifting" threads because it would rile all the forum meat-heads into a whirlwind of posts and links and stats on how steroids are actually really good for you and are delicious and all that.
Then I would usually say "Roid Rage," and oh so ironically, most would flip out and flame like crazy.
It has been a tradition long before you were around. This one is pretty tame though.

Those are really good numbers for a freshman. Stay with it.
At least your numbers aren't e-stats. Most people try to lie. Your squats a little high compared to your other lifts, but nothing unbelievable.

Weights are for people who want bad backs and stunted growth.
Losers.
Push ups and various other non-weight strength training exercises ftw.
I will say the most push ups I have ever done in a row was 76. That hurt.

Don't be hatin. I love weight lifting. It gives me something to do on weekdays, and makes me feel good. Bad backs come from people who don't actually know how to lift. As for the stunted growth, yeah, it can happen if you start lifting at a really young age. Otherwise, you're pretty safe.

Now do you lift to actually get stronger, or just to look good?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I lift for strength, not for the right to walk around school stickin my chest out for everyone to see.
I'll admit it is a nice feeling to have some chest muscles to show off, but thats not my primary goal when I'm lifting.

I do both really. I like 3 X 10. I get stronger and it shapes my chest.
I'll be honest, I kinda grew outta maxes after high school. After football seasons over who do you have to compete with? I just do it now to make sure I'm still improving.
But I only max out with barbells once a month. Every other time I use dumbells to hit the stability muscles. My sets a with 60, 60, 70's at the moment. I do decline and Incline and flat bench flyes too. Thats my chest day.

Full being a "full" and "complete" looking chest. Not the 150 pound guys you see on myspace with their shirts off who do 200 push ups a night.
You may just have good genetics, although, if they work that great, post a picture for us.
Either way, like I said, you may just have good genetics but the average guy can't build a big chest with push ups.

You caught my bluff. I hate you.
I actually do lift weights, but it is light stuff that I do for swimming, be it pace work or "strengthening"(20 reps or less).
For the pace work, I have someone I am working out with watch a video of my race and tell me when I take a stroke. For every stroke, I do one rep. Doesn't sound like much, but it is hard stuff.

Not much, but I'm only 150 lbs.

Decent deadlift.

Push ups and non strength also give 150 lb people definition. Good luck on ever having a "full" chest. |
I kind of weigh 210, and define "full".

|
I kinda do that. Most people consider ten reps "high reps". But it works well for me so I'll stay with it until it doesn't anymore.

They say benching your bodyweight is a milestone.
I saw a statistic saying 90% of men above 18 years old in america couldn't bench their own bodyweight.
