Hi, sorry about this but i've been having some trouble with my 98 custom...i was playing fine and then the velocity seemed to drop pretty drastically, after a while i went to the chrono and where before it had been on about 260fps it was now around the 100 mark and with the screw turned all the way out it topped out at around 170/180 (i fired off a fair few shots to let it settle but no good). I still had plenty of air left (running a 72ci pmi 3000psi tank) but i filled up again anyway but still had the same problem...

I haven't opened it up yet but as i don't really know what anything does or what stuff is supposed to look like it wouldn't do me any good at the moment anyway but i was hoping someone might have an idea as to what could be causing this/how to check it/what to do to fix it?

thanks a lot for any help

cheers

Lee

It is either a problem with your drive spring or valve.  Or you got stuff stuck in the powertube.

I would take it apart down to the valve and clean everything out.  Use plenty of oil on the valve.  Lube up the moving parts (rear bolt, linkage arm, front bolt).  Put some more oil into the ASA (where the tank screws in) and fire a bunch of dry shots into a rag.

If it STILL has a problem with low velocity, then I would suspect your main drive spring.

Also, you may want to check the output pressure on the tank regulator as it could be a problem with the reg.  Any Pro-shop should be able to do that for you or, you can connect that tank to another gun and test fire it.
