I graduated High School last year (2006. And being well into the new school year, im actually starting to miss high school in some ways. Most of my friends are like me, busy trying to get by in life and well that results into never seeing anyone. Ive also learned that high school was a much simpler, less stressful, and more fun time in life. I thought id never be saying all that but i did. Now dont get me wrong, i enjoy being out of school. I married my high school sweet heart and all that is gravy. But having to make the adjustment to an adult is difficult. Anyone else feel the same?

I would have to say I am in the same boat as you. I miss the days of seeing your friends everyday, not really having to do much work, and after school doing w/e I wanted. Now I have bills flying in at me I work 9 hours a day and when Im done I just want to go to sleep. I feel like I should be 40. Im taking a year off to get some money before I go to college again. Got an Associates Degree going for the Bachelors

Not seeing your friends every day does suck hard. I've been out for two years and well, you just really don't make as good of friends in college. I'm still tight with my HS friends compared to everyone since. Heck, I went to middle school if not elementary school with most of them. You just enjoy vacation time more and make time. I probably hung out with my HS friends more last summer than I did any summer in highschool. I mean, half of highschool you couldn't even drive. Then when you could drive, you worked. Now when everybody comes back there will be some time before they all get jobs and they'll have a higher appreciation for time with friends. Wait until this summer, it'll be better.
Also, you just graduated in June and are married? Man, you ARE in a hurry to have your life be over.

I disagree, I miss some of the advantages, such as being at home and whatnot. I don't miss physical highschool, carried some good memories away.
And CC for the win if you enjoy not making good friends with people and living at home.

The only problem I'm having is the workload, I work six out of the seven days a week and go to school 2 hours a night for four. It's getting difficult to manage my time, I've been here less and less.

I graduated from highschool and now work for AT&T. I'm never in my home town, always traveling, I work for nine or so hours, and just return to my hotel.
I dont even see friends. From the way it appears, college is still easy compared to actual life one your own. So enjoy it!

It's money for current and future investments to achieve better things, later on.
alittle over a grand a week, and working my own schedule... is'nt terrible. Plus I get to see new cities every few weeks as I move onto a new job location.

CC for the loss.
Moving away is awesome, you get to go meet entirely new people, new experiences, etc. It's great, you can meet new people you'd never bother trying to get to know in highschool. I'm glad to be done with all the stupid highschool drama. Although, it's pretty bad where I'm from usually. In highschool, if you go to a houseparty, almost guaranteed there will be at least one fight. I havent seen a single one since I moved.

Im in 8th grade i honestly cant wait to move out and go places (college traveling etc.). I understand you prolly look back miss it just because even if you hated it you cant hang out with you friends all day anymore you have to work pay bills etc. Well if you went back for a week you would'nt miss it anymore.

Try it for 24/7 for 6 months and living with them.

same.
I'm going to college next year and I'm scared. I won't be moving away.
This is my plan:
•Stay at home and commute to Lincoln (college) which is about a 20 min.
drive.
•Work at the State Hospital. (yes I know that it's a super suck ass job)
they'll pay my way through at least 70% of schooling. Which is cool
cuz it's only gonna be about $7,000 for the year. CHEAP!! So I'm not
gonna take out student loans. Luckily my parents are gonna help me out.
So that will save me in the long run.
•As I'm at home, I don't have to pay for anything and I can save my
money. When I have enough money saved up for eh...about 6 months of
rent and car payments, along with other expenses, then I think I'll be
ready for my own place.
It's going to be a lengthy process, but I think it will be worth it in the long
run. I'll be an RN without student loans and I'll have me some $$$ that I
worked hard for.
So ya...that's my plan.
