Yea, I got the idea from them. The thompsons always been my favorite military gun, so I wanted to make it really bad, without having to spend the 800 Englers asking for theirs

Well then you obviously dont know what a thompson looks like, because thats the way it was meant to be. Straight.

Great job with it, but it seems off. Maybe if you find a way to move the foregrip back?

Looks good. Mag is a little far back for my liking. Look into a rocket cock or something...the bolt looks bad. Overall, nice work.

i like it. its better than what i had on hand. i do not have the tools that you guys do. heres a pic of what i tried to make into a thompson and turned out ok. not really a thompson though. the only things i had were a hack saw and sand paper for the front handguard. the mag and stock (i cheated) got off opsgear. its got a new paintjob now. its ok it didnt turn out the way i wanted but better than it could have been. i put a flatline on it instead of the barrel (barrel is stock because i didnt want to try the handguard on a good one, could have ruined it). with the flatline it looks cool but i probably wont get one. i tried my friends on.

I think you need to somehow make the body of the gun more blockey to match the size of the w/e its called where you put your free hand. (handguard?)

I dont blame you for not wanting to fork out $800 for englers work. I know one time I emailed him asking about the body for his Halo-Assult Rifle and he was very aerrogant about it........

That actually was an inadvertant mistake that worked out to my advantage. Since Im a tall big guy, it fit me perfectly. Now...watching all my smaller friends try to hold it is funny lol

it looks pretty damn good, i applaud your effort and its end result

i give it a 8/10 with one suggestion

take that braided hose and run it along the right side of the marker and through/down the side of the stock to give it a little better look, then get a remote or something

looks very nice. props on your work.

one comment though,

forgive me if im wrong, dont some tommys actually have a front grip somewhat like the grip on a 98? basicly think of a 98 with the front grip chopped off, then put on a metal rod to be placed maybe 6" further up.

hopefully that looks right. sorry about the periods try to ignore them, they are there because leaving a lot of spaces leaves weird script that messes it up. but from the ilustration you can see the front grip moves forward on a metal rod under the barrel, and then the mag, grip, and then beginning of the stock

Yea your right, the version of the Thompson your talking about is the oldschool gangster tommy gun. Some of them were used in Vietnam as well(As seen in the movie Windtalkers)

HeHe, a typewriter would be sweet.

I think the gun looks good. Usually the foregrip sits almost right against the mag, but you can't really do it with the way the 98 is made, that's probually what makes it look off.

This I find difficult to believe.

Meet the guy, then tell me he's arrogant.

The work he does isn't for everyone to pick up off the shelf. His products are high quality and use real parts, thats going to drive the price beyond what you'll pay for the Gander Mountain AK special with plastic foregrip and folding combat stock. But they're worth it. I don't personally own one, but I know a couple of people who do, and they've never had problems with the stuff.
