I think with all they put into and the fact that it can only shoot 50 rounds per second (50 bps) and it has 10 barrels.

It looks like the sweetest thing ever.  And I love the 'nade launcher. (It bestest thingy dat i've eva seen!!) Makes me think of kid's in a candy story. lol.

But performance wise I don't think the cannon is that great in my opinion... If 2 people have maxed out - high end guns with empire b's we can shoot even more bps than the vehicle. Plus we only have two tiny guns and two barrels and toghether we shoot up to around 27 bps each therefore = 54 bps per second.

It takes this machine 10 barrels to shoot out 50 bps.  I do like how there is only 1 trigger system but still 10 barrels divided by 50 bps equals only 5bps.

I can shoot faster than 5bps on a semi-auto, sear tripping/blowback gun.

Anyway it's a cool toy, but I think it's a little overated and I'm not disappointed that Tippmann got rid of it but feel free to disagree and give your own opinion.

if they wanted to to more bps they obviously could have.

as far as i understand, it was never fired at a person

im very confused

They couldn't time it properly, so it basically became a ten-barreled food processor.

$42 000 for a food processor?

Have you seen the new Ego I'd spend a couple grand on that and be happy.

Plus I could actually shoot it at someone.

I saw it shot a few years ago at Hell Survivors at TWC.

It had some problems.

It ripped the bark off a tree they were shooting at. They were having some trouble getting it chrono. It would shoot over 400fps....they would adjust it...and it would shoot 175fps and chop like crazy. No matter how small the increment of adjustment was...the thing just would not cooperate. Unless it was shooting incredibly HOT it would not function.

Not sure what the issue was but it was never shot at anyone.
That same year they stopped shooting the artillery. They used to shoot squad buster grenades into the village during the big paint wasting assault.
They would lob those things in from about 100 yards away.
Until they hit someone in the back of the head and knocked his goggles off...and pretty much knocking the kid unconscious. So...now they use it as a high priced T-shirt launcher....for which it is pretty effective.

edit: you can PM BigAl and he can tell you how much it costs.

The 42000 was for the special ops one, not the hellhound

somthing to do with the sheer velocity of the projectiles (paintballs). more of a saftey reason.
