I am thinking about purchasing the spring kit but wanted to know if there are any performance gains in using this product.  Has anyone noticed any significant benefits of these springs over stock?

Meh, some people said they've noticed reduced trigger pull while others wished they hadnt spent the money. Try out the pen spring mod first.

It depends on what performance gains you are looking for.

  • Lighter trigger pull-didn't really notice a difference with the Maddmann kit.
  • Valve operation
    • The heavy spring is good for releasing more air from the valve for air-hungry add-ons like the flatline, response trigger, or cyclone feed.
    • The light spring is great for reducing air consumption iin those cases where the marker does not require all of the gass that is being released to operate correctly.
  • I had a kit that included a sear spring also but can't remember if that one was a Maddmann kit or some other-avoid replacing the sear spring with a non-original equipment one as a weaker spring will sometimes cause the sear to operate to slowly which leads to firing problems and potential bolt damage.

I can't help much with this question, I've never messed with the electronics for the 98 family of markers. My guess would be that if you needed a new sear spring it would come with the kit the same way it does with the response trigger.
