Well, im looking at buying a new gun, and my parents are giving me a hard time about it.  I love my 98, but there not much more i can do with it.  I want a faster and quieter gun.  My dad is telling me to go with what i got, but im stuck in trying to figure out what to do with it.  Yeah, i can put a reg and possibly internals into it, but that wont satisfy me.  Ive been trying to find an ebolt on ebay for a while and have come up for the most part unsuccessful, and i dont even know if this would satisfy my need for speed. so, in conclusion, i have a few questions:

1.)  Should i keep looking into a mid range electro, or do you have any advice for my tippy?

2.)  If you think i should keep looking at electros, do you have advice for convinsing them to allow me to buy a new gun?  I have been saving money for a long time, and this kind of annoys me.

3.)  If you think i should stay with my tippy, what should i do to it?

Thanks for your help, and i know this could have been posted elsewhere like in upgrades & customizing, but it is truly about markers after all.

I would look around a little longer for an Ebolt. Ebolted 98s are some of the nicest guns I've shot.

If you really feel a need for change, look into an Ion or Dye Matrix. There are several threads about convincing parents to allow you to get a new gun. If you have the money, you should be able to get one.

What do i need to run an ebolt?  If i do get one, id already have a va and prolly a palmers, is there any other air regulation needs?  Also, do ebolts run off a board or, what i should really be asking, is how do they work?  ill go look for a thread on this, but are there changable firing modes?  I would mostly want one for an easy trigger pull, and maybe ramping, but im not a fun of full auto and burst modes.  Whats the capped rate on them too?  Ill go looking for this stuff now, but if anyone wants to answer have at it.

Id look into ions and impulses if I were you. I would try to make your 98 fast because its always gonna be a 98 , and it doenst have eyes. I bought a vision impulse with a few upgrades for 150 bucks. There is nothing better for the price IMO

tippys are great but....not that great. id look into an ion, promaster, or possibly wait for the rail. mowing the lawn and doing the dishes are some great ways to convince ur parents

Now hold on, what all do you have on your tippy?  Do you have a fast hopper?  Do you have an HPA tank?  And convincing your parents may be harder than it seems, it took me numerous times of bringing up the subject of money, and my 4.0 average in school.

i'll help you look for an e-bolt if you need it.. and for shooting them, you dont really need much stuff. and HPA isn't necessary for it.

Well, right now, i kinda got a little bit of leway into getting an electric gun... so while im still keeping the Ebolt in back of my mind i would only really buy one if i could find the BSI, just so i know i could get it past 13 BPS.

For markers right now, im looking at Promasters, Evil Omens, private label Impulses, and the occasional cheap Evil Pimp Kits as well as PM5's and DM4's, of course all on ebay.  Do you guys have and advice between these, or other good markers in the $300 price range?  I really don't want an Ion, for the pure fact that many people have them.

What's wrong with an Ion? lots of people have 98's and you have one. Heck, i have one! Ion's have nothing wrong with them...i've shot them many times and never had problems with any, and best of all, its cheap. Nowadays, it costs $200. Try finding the capability of an Ion in a new gun in as little of a price as that.
