I am in the process of building my own 98 Custom E-bolt. My hopes for this thread are to help other people who want to put together their own E-bolt and to ensure my set up will work.
So far this is what my setup will consist of.
Ram: I plan on using Natural Newbie’s (Model98.net) ram. This is a completely custom two way ram. When used in conjunction with his custom rod, I think it will be a good match. The only thing I need to come up with is a ram cap and a hammer. Any ideas?
Board: I hope to use a Tadao M7 Thump DM4/5/C board. This may be a bit of an overkill, but it’s great software. Plus it will fit in my marker and it supports eyes.
Solenoid: This is my biggest concern so far. I have been looking at Intimidator (Humphrey) and W.A.S. (MAC) solenoids. WAS claims to have the smallest and fastest solenoid, but I am not sure they would work with my board. I know the Humphrey one will work, and I plan on just using it. Again, ideas? Best four way solenoid?
Eyes: I am buying a set of DM 4/5/C replacement eyes. Comes with all of the wires, connectors, and eyes. Now all I have to worry about is drilling for them and milling the receivers.
Miscellaneous: Dye membrane pad. Made for the board. Allows me to easily turn it on/off and switch modes. Dye Micro switch and battery connector. Again, this is made for my board and are obviously necessary to the whole setup.
LPC/LPR For a regulator I want to use a Palmer’s Male/Female/Sideline. I also want to pick up a Palmer’s micro rock. Top of the line products, should do the job and then some.
I have a LPK installed on the gun already. The VA will be ported for maximum air flow.
Other than little things like barbs/hoses this should be all I need. Does anyone see any compatibility issues or anywhere that I could do better.
For those of you who are interested in making your own E-bolt kits, these are the sites from which I gather all of my information.

I think the humphrey noid should be good. Thats whats used on regular ebolts. I doubt you'll have to worry about out shooting it.
Where are you going to buy your noid at?

Since I haven't settle on one I am not sure yet. Ebay perhaps. An online paintball store. From someone on the nation.

you should look at the actual humphrey website for the type of noid that you want, and then look else where for cheaper. or if you can't find one, you can just buy it off the website

Heh, I think your best bet would be to buy one on nation. I tried buying straight from humphrey but they just tell you to find a distributer. I tracked it all the way down to a distributer, but it turns out they didnt sell the one I needed.
Plus if you get it from nation, you'll definatly be getting a paintball grade noid.

As of right now I am looking at this http://www.airsoldier.com:8080/cgi-bin/mivavm?Merchant2/merchant.mvc+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AOS&Product_Code=HUM-CRCB-0053W&Category_Code=SOLENOIDS - Humphrey and this http://www.airsoldier.com:8080/cgi-bin/mivavm?Merchant2/merchant.mvc+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AOS&Product_Code=SKIN-K4H04&Category_Code=SOLENOIDS - Skinner . Also have pondered the idea of a Mini Morlock. I don't know if it is superior or if I have the knowledge to wire it all. Will probably just stick with the Tadao board.

Would it help if I QEV'd both inlets to my ram? This would prevent the gas in the ram from having to vent out the exhaust ports on my noid correct? Should help overall performance from my understanding.

It will help especially if you hoses are rather long. I haven't done it yet but I will be doing a controlled test on my testing rig to see how much QEV's actually increase the cycle rate on a given cylinder. I am waiting for a bunch of stuff to come in from Clippard. For more information log onto model98
