Yesterday when I was playing Counterstrike Source, it randomly went to the black screen saying "Your monitor is working correctly..blahblahblah". The typical screen you get after you put your pc into standby and leave the monitor on. It happens after about 10-15 minutes of playing Counterstrike, and it has happened twice while regularly while just browsing the internet. Moving the mouse and hittings keys does nothing and I have to pull the plug. I checked to make sure my computer just wasn't going into hibernate mode or anything and all power save and screensaver options are off. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Any ideas why it happens primarily in CS though?
It hasn't happened in the last 20 minutes while browsing the internet.

have you tried using a different monitor?is your current monitor plugged in securely?

Haven't tried a different monitor and I checked all the plugs. It definetely isn't the power because the monitor is still on when I get the message.

Sounds like a core failure.

Did you change any graphics settings?  Sometimes if the refresh rate or resolution is too high for the monitor you'll get that.  Other than that, new monitor probably.

Not a total core failure, only a few of the 6 cores failed.
