What's your favorite handgun? It doesn't have to be a specific year or country any handgun, revolver is allowed. As for me I'd have to say the Colt M1911A1 WWII issue. The thing is crazy.

A handgun is useful only to fight your way to a rifle.

Best handgun out there IMO.
Followed closely by the Le Mat. Yes, that's a 9 shot .45 with a shot barrel underneath. I believe it's a 20g.

Since everyone's already stated the Colt M1911's( prefer the enhanced models to the mil issue ones) I'll say the Colt Model 1903 pocket pistol in .32ACP. It's small and light and surprisingly accurate for a pocket pistol. It's the M1911's little brother. Apparently it is as ineffective against thick-skulled Brazillian Women as the H&R Model 999 against elderly Presidents.

Justic, pics for the Russian pistol?
LB, just because there was a question of your strong hand, I'll assume lefty. Righty's think everyone else is too. But yeah, it's meant to be carried inside your pants on your strong side with the belt clip over your pants? Something for outside of your pants would probably have an actual loop for your belt, but you've mistaken me for someone who knows something about pistols. I'm going to be spending a while at smith and wesson this year familiarizing myself with their models and looking into what I want to get next year when I can get my concealed carry permit, plus saving cash. I'm thinking a big honking .45 for a house gun and maybe something smaller for carry. My uncle has a colt commander he might let go for short change if I want to keep it to the same caliber.

Oh yeah.
It isn't that inaccurate, really. It is rifled, so it's not just a smooth bore pistol. The only problem is black powder doesn't burn as evenly as carbide powder, so if you don't pack it tight, it can settle. Also, it's slow burning and spits out this cloud of smoke after every shot, so it's fun to take it to the range and annoy others!

Did you read the article though? "It was advertised as a silent and capable to fire under-water, but in real life Gyrojet weapons turned out to be extremely unreliable and dramatically inaccurate; also, these weapons were rather ineffective at point-black distances, gaining its full power only at ranges of about 40-60 meters (yards)."
