Why the hell would I want a rail? ANS GenX II and Jackhammer II's are just
fine, thank you very much, and you don't need an on/off with an
Armageddon, however, there is one, I just didn't list it. You need to

P.S. I spent maybe.... $300 on the whole thing. Everything else was won in tournament play or given to me from the owners of the various companies. For example, there is a Lapco stainless barrel on the because Colin and I used to deal with each other on a weekly basis. The shocktech Rat 3:16 was a freebie from Rocky as we used to do a lot of business together, and Glenn gave me the quikram when I visited his shop in Sacramento. I picked up the body from Budd at the Zapp IAO in Cranberry back in '01. Lots of memories in that sucker. I'm never going to let go of it either. I do have some parts I'm giving out to our two builders in the build-off though. DeTrevini and Barrel Break.

ANS regulators are quite horrible. That drop puts your wrist at a messed angle and will make your gun way to tall. Rails feel better than drop forwards. Get a delrin bolt too. See the anodizing worn on the bolt? thats from friction. Your wearing away the aluminum on the inside of your body.
Age of the marker does not matter. Its the player. Give me a spyder and ill kick butt. Give me a DM6 and I will still kick butt.
How much does it weigh fully loaded with a full loader and full fill? 10-11 pounds?

So, since ANS sucks, you know, that's why I consistenly chrono 192 over
and over again huh? I'm also running at 225psi input. But that must suck.
Listen Andy, if I wanted someone to tell me what to put on my marker, I'd
have asked. However, this one is pretty much finished with the exception
of maintenance and the possibility of parts getting worn out. I've been a
certified tech for years, I got paid to do this all throughout college. Have
you ever been over to Kapp's shop in Santa Rosa? Or taken a tour with
Glenn Palmer in Sac? Talked with Colin Lapco on a regular basis, or
walked through tech support with Rocky Cagnoni (while he was inevitably
getting high?) I seriously doubt it. If you read my earlier reply rather than
just skipping through the thread like an illiterate 14 year old on his
mom's Dell, you'd see that the thing that makes me proud about this
marker is the history behind it and the people that were involved in it's
production. I don't want your opinion on parts, so keep them to yourself.

No real offense taken, just wonder why some people have to always try
and make themselves look better by putting other people's work down.
Oh, and I could put a freaking gas-thru grip on that marker and it'd still
be regulated down to 225psi input due to the fact that the Armageddon
has one of the most rock-solid adjustable output rates that you can find.
Anywho, I'm going to get everything in perfect working order again
(Glenn is sending me a rebuild kit for the 3-way today) and then it's on to
the next project.

ANS has had horrible quality control since the start of there crappy company. The reason you get consistency like that is because of the regulator on your bottle. Who needs to hang with big names in the business of paintball to put together a great gun? Uh I'm seventeen not fourteen. I am on my own computer that I paid for. I shoot a gun I paid for. I drive a truck that I paid for and do maintenance on.

The reason you get consistency like that is because of the regulator on your bottle. Dual Regulation is a wonderful thing, but the GenX-II still stays rock-solid with the input from the bottle being at 400psi, so it performs very amicably
Who needs to hang with big names in the business of paintball to put together a great gun? I didn't have to do any of that to build the marker, I just had the absolutely wonderful opportunity to do so. Oh, and to answer your other question about traveling and the pay for it, exactly where do you think I met and talked with most of these people, it wasn't at my local field, that's for sure. Try some nice NPPL tournaments and NCPA events, not to mention college courses that afforded me the opportunity to travel for little or no money.
Uh I'm seventeen not fourteen. I am on my own computer that I paid for. I shoot a gun I paid for. I drive a truck that I paid for and do maintenance on. First things first, you were 11 when I FINISHED that marker and while I know you feel that being 17 makes you all manly and grown up, you have shown that you are still as immature as you were when you were 11. I don't care if you bought your own truck, I bought my first car before I was as old as you, bought my own computer, and did all of my own maintinance as well, big deal. Try doing what real adults do, paying for mortgages, raising kids, running a business, and respecting other people's work and achievements. Then come talk to me. Oh, and you shoot a gun you paid for as well? I thought you played paintball. If we're talking guns, I've got a nice .45ACP, a Luftwaffe Luger P-08, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Remington model-33 and am in the process of getting a Winchester Model '98.
And for everyones information. That gun started life as a stock black magic cocker. Not milled from that picture of the stock 1999 side feed cocker. Really? I thought that they both started out as blocks of aluminum, or even prior to that, some nice ore sitting in the ground hoping that one day, when it got old enough, it would get the chance to be smelted, formed, cooled, and C&C'd into a paintball marker. If you didn't read my earlier TWO posts, I said I picked the body up from Budd Orr at the IAO. But you know, I think most of the people in here are a lot smarter than you, so they probably figured that out for themselves. The pic of the right feed ('cause side feed means it could be either a right OR left feed, but you were too young to probably know that back when I bought the original marker) 'cocker was to show what I started out with and built to. Everything was changed, the body was the last thing I changed over. It took 3 and a half years to do, but it was worth it. Incidentally, the original body DID get milled down and annodized before I used all my old parts to build a nice marker for one of my friends.
Id rather spend my money on playing rather than touring the country to get tours of the manufacturer shops Oh really? I'd rather spend my money on an education that encourages the correct usage of apostrophies. See above you sophomoric jackass. |

Um...I don't know what you expected from an online forum, but that is what happens here. You post your gun, we comment on what we like and don't like. Pretty simple process actually. And I think Andy has been right on most of the things he has said, all I have seen you do is throw around names of important people in paintball, make comments on ages (which is completely irrelevant to the matter at hand), and make childish remarks about intelligence levels. It seems to me that you are the one being immature, not Andy.

Nah Karll, the only stock part on there is a cocking-rod doughnut since kapp doesn't supply one. Even that isn't original though.
Glazener, it's all good man, my personal philosophy on internet arguments is that they're pretty pointless, but they can be fun! I really don't care that much what anyone thinks one way or the other, as I've said and as DeTrevni has re-asserted, I've got it set up the way I like it (well, almost, I can't stand the belsales roller sear, should have never switched out the AKALMP sear) and it's a done project. What I can't stand though, are people who just spout off and don't say anything to back up their info.
Honestly, most of the guys who's names I've mentioned aren't really involved with their companies, or the sport for that matter, anymore. Colin was ousted by the board about 6 months ago, Budd sold out, and Glenn doesn't do a whole lot but grumble at you if you mention anything about materials other than palmer's anymore.
The age comment comes into the discussion due to the fact that this is an extremely old project (by paintball standards) and has been finished for some time. Who, with the exception of extremely experienced people who were around and handled the harware that is on that marker, really has the right to say that something "sucks"?
In all honesty, I'm just egging him on. It's a bit fun really!

Calling me immature? Your the one arguing because I dissed your marker. FYI its Colin Thompson not Colin Lapco. Do not get me started on firearms, I have more than I need multiples of each cal .22, .308, 30-30, 30-06, 12 gauge and I am thinking about purchasing a AR-15. Good job making a scene over a typo of mine because I put gun instead of marker.
If they all started out as blocks as aluminum then my Series 5 started life as a Matrix, Or Intimidator Or god forbid a WGP cocker body.
I know what a side feed is. I am not totally retarded when it comes to paintball. I am not some speedballing kid that has no clue what a Splatmaster or the nelsplat 007 is and has a new marker bought for him each month by his parents.
What I meant by spending money playing is by using the money I have put aside for paintball.
I am going to stop arguing. You're not worth the time to argue. If you were mature you would have done the same thing on my second or third post in your thread
Oh yeah, Don't leave your marker cocked like that in the first picture. You are only reducing the life of your drive spring.

It's not cocked, it's just a longer cocking rod, It is nel-spot, not nel-splat,
but it's semantics. In all honesty, I was just egging you on, I was writing
most of the stuff I wrote with a pretty big smile on my face.
Seriously, though, it isn't the best idea to go around and just unload "this
or that sucks" on someone else's work or property. There is a big
difference between Constructive criticism and being critical of
something. Trust me, I know ANS doesn't make the best regulators in the
business, but compared to a lot of the regs that used to be out there,
they hold their own. Even when I was using a N2Duck pre-out bottle, it
stood rock-solid in conjunction with the lp-valve. The Jackhammer was
DEFINATELY a lot better than any of the other options out there as well,
with the exception of a rock.
The AR-15 is a good rifle, btw, the only issue I've ever had with any of
them is that they don't tend to perform well in dry-dusty conditions. Keep
the dust-cover down on it whenever you aren't firing it, though, and you
should be fine. My personal fav when it comes to .223 Remmington is the
mini-14. It's just more versitile than anything else out there.

love the slider. nice work, although i'm not to keen on the scheme. i agree it needs a pump kit and a delron bolt, but whatever floats your boat.
