I just bought an a5 and i want to get the flatline barrel for it. But several people told me it's not all its cracked up to be. they said it is inaccurate and does not have the extra range tippman says it does. Any imput would be appreciated.

Oh it's definately got the range. And for accuracy, it has the same accuracy as any other barrel at normal ranges, if you use quality paint. The longer ranges give the ball more room to fly off path, so that kind of causes an illusion of lost accuracy. A member here actually performed bench tests with the Flatline, and it was no less accurate at normal ranges than any other barrel. For the Flatline, you want to use small bore paint, though. This will give the ball more room for the barrel to use centrifugal forces, which is how it works. Also, you have to make sure the Flatline is prefectly vertical, or the balls will curve.

All in all, it's a great barrel, but with a lot of hassle. People say the Apex is less picky, and over all higher quality.

i reccomend you look into the apex

it is a really good barrel and in the opinions of many (including myself as i have one) it is superrior to the flatline in almost every-every way (looks are personal preference)

Nothin wrong with a flatline. It prefers Marbalizer paint (kinda costly for some).

I like to be sneaky and do the one-shot one-kill and it was a lil loud for my liking. But some people like that.

DeTrevni hit in right on the nose. It's not that it's not accurate at farther ranges, it just has more space to stray off course. It works wonders with small bore paint, like Marballizers.
