A local tech installed an expansion chamber in the 98c vertical adaptor of
my brother's gun and I
was wondering how you can unscrew it. It was secured with teflon tape.

Will muscling it out cause any damage? Should the threads be heated first?

Teflon tape is not locktite. It is not a thread locker, it just seals the threads. Unscrew it just as you would anything else.
