I picked up an ion on the nation the other day. Couldn't pass it up for 110 bucks. Its amazing how different it feels compared to my imp.

It has:

Cp shorty
NDZ ? trigger
some modded feedneck thingy
red body kit
drop and on/off

Its been 18 hours and im not bored yet, thats a good sign.

Just get a new bolt and barrel and I would say a new feedneck and then you will have a gun that truly rips. I love mine, but that drop is massive.

Nice find. Definately go with a new feedneck, check out a Redz Camlock. Lose the drop and throw something like a Uni on it.

Ions do feel alot differnt than imps.

I like the feel of the trigger frame on the ion more than the impulse for some reason.

Get a lucky board with a mac noid. I haven't tested it but I know that its alot faster than the stock noid and practically anything from lucky thats not defective is really good.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention my response to the picture: "aggggh plastic!" *falls off chair almost blacks out*

There was a company that besically took the SP factory noids and put them on their boards because the factory noids have a longer life span that other noids on other boards.

I have tested the prototype boards in both SP Noid and MAC noid. I currently run the MAC noided Spitfire and love it (still have the SP prototype). The only real difference in the 2 noids are this...The MAC allows you to drop the dwell to a 'true' dwell of Zero...unlike other boards (not knocking them, just saying) that their "bottomed-out" dwell is actually 6ms or so. I ran mine at 110 psi (TechT, V2 - L6 bolt), dwell of zero at 280 fps (my field's limit) with no drop off and chrono fluctuation of +/- 3 fps with a CP Long reg at 35 bps until the pod went empty (QLoader directly mounted). Not one chop, not one misfeed. There was a barrel break just past the 1/2-way mark but only one (as far as I can tell) which coud have been any number of reasons.

I <3 my MAC noid.

EDIT: I should point out that the MAC noid is a tight fit in the frame with the board. It's not a problem, I'm just saying...it feels as if you are grinding the board when installing the noid.

I've heard the Lucky board with mac noid is nice. I love my t-board though, not bad for 50 bucks.

McKnight, you are right. Before I tested the Lucky boards I was running the TBoard. It's an economical alternative to the others.
