Has anyone ever thought about it?? (Putting an Apex Tip on the 98 Flatline)
The 98 Custom Flatline might not initially be able to accept the Apex UMS Mod Adapter as the Outside Diameter is a little too big because of the tip of the barrel (where all the porting is, is wider than the rest of the barrel), but it could be sanded down and then it would be sure to fit the Apex, as the rest of the flatline O.D is pretty skinny and the Curve doesn't go right until the very end in the 98C Flatline like it does in the A5 Flatline.
I figured it was probably wasn't a great idea and therefore I didn't post this in the Upgrades Forum. But Once I get all of my woods gear bought (this will take at least three years) as I easily have another $1500 to spend, and must pay for University first. But I figured I'd probably try it, much later on, even if I had to do a bit of sanding because I'd have a Digi Camo job done to the whole gun so it wouldn't look that horrible and plus I'd be using my Apex on my J&J most of the time anyway probably, unless this worked better than I expect.
I figured this would be a cool thing to try for people that have both.
My only concerns are:
- More barrel breaks,
- The 98 Flatline only porting is at the Tip, where the Apex Tip would be, therefore air out exit that porting into the UMS MOD and maybe even the Apex itself, this could cause the Apex to shift or move maybe and lead to maybe more breaks because then after shifting/moving it wouldn't be screwed on right.
The possible range for this should be farther than ever acheived if it works but the balls might not break anyway unless they hit something really hard and even still, but it should keep some good cover fire from far away, up in a castle or something while your front guys move up.
Plus newbs think that the farther the ball can go obviously means that the ball will hurt more once it hits you, so it could be inimidating for some.
Anyway it's just an Idea I had, what do you guys think?
Be honest, but please try not to flame or be rude.
Thanks
