Badass....

Edit: Not sure I like the split cockpit thing though, if that center thing was as tall as it looked....I gotta have the left hand on my girls leg or it just doesn't feel right. Needs a bit more leg room in the back too....if you're gonna put a back seat in, make it comfortable. Awesome look though, green and cheap too....again, badass....

Tesla is the coolest car I've heard of in quite a while. This toyota though, $35k

Both cars are beauties.  I really like the Toyota but would like it in a different color.  Silver, red, blue, black.

ive seen the tesla before, 130 isnt too great though... but anyways, how much is the tesla in comparison to the toyota?

The Tesla is 100k.  But 135 mpg equivalent, and dead silent.  I WILL own one.  Eventually.

Still, 35k for the Toyota...  mmmmmmm...

Doesn't the 100k price tag kinda kill the whole financial benefit of the mileage? Or are you interested in the greeness for more important reasons than the Green.

I see that as a good thing.

.Ryan - The latter.  Financially the Tesla makes no sense whatsoever - although you do get Ferrari-like performance for a fraction of the price.

I try to buy high-milage vehicles whenever possible, if they fit my requirements.  Not always possible, but why buy a gas-guzzler when you can get the same or better car with better mileage?

More like respect +0.1.  My requirements/wants for vehicles are pretty high, so none of my vehicles have mileages worth bragging about.  Hopefully that will change.  I have a couple of cars in sight that will improve my fleet average significantly.

But I do try to buy "best in class" mileage, at least.  Baby steps.

Everytime I hear an argument against a hybrid/ electric car, its almost always "you know that you wont actually save any money on fuel, the car costs more than you'd save"

So? Whats wrong with wanting a car that doesnt rape the planet, even if it costs a couple extra bucks? Its not always about saving YOURSELF some hassle.

Consider that the steps taken to make batteries/hydrogen for hybrid cars sometimes does more environmental damage than just getting a typical gasoline-only car.

I read the story behind the Tesla, and that seems to be the case less and less. People also think that the electricity used to charge them will do just as much damage (coal plants, etc) and in reality, its not even close.

Yeah, batteries = bad for the environment, but apparently its not as bad as traditional cars.

I was thinking more about the production of hydrogen. As of right now, there's just not enough being produced for there to be an efficient process.

my 94 Escort takes like 12sec to get to 60

The car looks sweet. I've been waiting for the "futuristic" styled cars to be made and this looks like one. I still like the tesla all electric car though. But that cars also 90k

Edit: I'm also glad cars are starting to become a little more different looking like way back in the day :O

It's not all about the horsepower.  If the new Camaro drives like the old Camaros, I can imagine a whole lot of cars with smaller engines that I would much rather have.

Good point but they are are different packages for the Camaro and its not as heavy as it would seem, you can get the 600hp package with a handling package as well, you just got to cough up the dough.
