I remember watching footage of him falling down the stairs while getting off a plane, he got up and had a good laugh, I think he was a pretty down to earth guy and could see the humor in those kinds of situations - R.I.P.

We'll he actually kinda was. He is the longest living president so far. He lived to be 93 years.

Rest in peace.
Now there's just Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Bush II that are left...

| We'll he actually kinda was. He is the longest living president so far. He lived to be 93 years. | Hell the guy got offers to play as center for the green bay packers and had a **edited** ton of bronze stars from WWII. I'd say he was tough.
Let's not forget he was tough enough to ignore the masses screaming for Nixon's head on a platter, keep level headed and make the right decision no matter how bad it seemed at the time.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

MBro- those were campaign stars, not bronze stars. He served onboard one of the new fast attack carriers in the war; that ship took part in strikes supporting most of the amphibious assaults. They weren't the 'bronze star' valour decoration...

Yeah, ESPN just did a thing on him. He was offered to play starting center for Green Bay and New York, but chose to go to law school.

I wish I would've seen that. I'm sure it will be on later though.
I know he was the center for Michigan for one or maybe two national titles.

I heard a great, short bio on him on cbc while I was driving today. Quite the guy.
When you're the president, and those who are running opposite of you say things like "in all my years, I never once knew Ford to lie, or stretch the truth" etc....you know he was a good guy.
I mean cmon, the people of the opposite party were praising him at the time...thats impressive.
