I don't own one. But I think it's not a bad idea to:
- polish your internals.
- clean the marker after games
- oil the marker with *good paintball oil* Hoppes 9 or Kermode Concepts Synthetic Gun oil etc.
that's all I can thiink of right now.
You could look into upgrades though... a new barrel should normally be the first and is normally the most important upgrade.

The inrush of Newbs is approaching full tilt .
Welcome to the sport and the Forum !
As of yet there arent that many X-7 owners out there , but its a sweet looking Milsim marker based on the same operating platform as the much more popular A-5's and Custom 98's !
I hope now that you're here your prepared to give us some feedback on these too , and in return we'll give you what we can , but be prepared to search a lot for questions that may have been already asked (and Answered in detail ) .
Read a LOT and speak a little for now in here . The best performance enhancement you can make to your marker initially is in yourself , get to know its limitations , its strengths , and its (in your opinion , shortcomings ) .
This means play with it for a while , find out what what it can do out of the box , read about Paint to barrel matching , barrel types , polishing the internals , hoppers Etc.
A lot of questions will be answered if you just read the Stickies (topics that were deemed informative enough to be semi-permantly "Stuck" at the top of each forum heading) .

Dear God. Please research the advice you intend to give.
DO NOT use Hoppes or the like. They'll break down the rubber o rings. Use gold cup or a similar water based oil for paintball markers. Actual gun oil is a bad idea.

^^^^ You Bump your head there ?!?
Hoppes is what ships from the Tippmann factory with every new marker .
Water based oil ? Hmm this is a new one on me,,, Maybe April Fools is coming early this year . To think almost 40 years working with lubricants and machinery and I've never heard of water based lubricant for machinery ,,,
Checks the only bottle of water based lubricant available ,, Heeyyy !! I think a lot of my marker , but obviously I dont hold it as dearly as does Brihard

Actually brihard he is right, the hoppes no.9 does ship out with the
tippmann. Also it is a very good oil to use the ones you really want to use
are silicone based or pneumatic lube.

If you use any type of gun oil, be CERTAIN that it does not contain additives used to breakdown carbon buildup common in firearms.

Water based lubricant = spit
Now don't polish your gun Yet. I have two A-5's one pretty much stock sans the E grip and one RT'ed, Polished and teflon coated. And I honestly dont see any major diference between them besides the huge diference between the E-grip and the RT.
If your new, I'd say learn how corectly remove your tank on and off the gun so you dont eat an O ring every time.
Keep it clean, before each game remove the barrel and put a drop of any off the shelf Paintball Oil (easily found at your Local PB shop. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOP it's what makes your Local Scene.) and put a drop or two into the ASA. Which is where you screw on your paintball tank. Now take a few Dry shots (Dry Fire = No paint). Make sure that you have always fresh paint and plenty of air.

Apologies, I stand corrected- in the past I've been led to believe that typical gun oils will degrade the o-rings. 'water based' was yet a further goof. I was thinking of the silicone based lubes.

Don't polish the internals. It will void your warranty.
Just keep it clean and lubricated and you should have a nice, well working paintball gun.

^ The warranty thing, I don't even that info is entirely true but even
if it is Tippmann will still give you the best service no matter
what... yes even if you polish your internals or have had the gun for
years and years or even if you do mods to the gun. Tippmann has great
customer service and polishing your internals will not stop their
customer service from being excellent or at least in my case it didn't!
Polishing the internals is a bit of work, but it is a good mod to do in my opinion.

Here we go again with that old debate .
#1. Until Tippmann says it will void the warranty , it wont .
#2. If done properly , it is a dramatic performance enhancement to the 98 Custom , I think the forumers who have done the mod sucessfully and are pleased with it , Outnumber the ones who have either dont it incorrectly or arent impressed with it .
#3. because results vary widely with the skill and expectations of the owners of the markers , this is one of those debates that will wage on indefinitely , based on each users experience or hearsay , as the case may be .
I dont recommend somebody that isnt thoroughly familiar with their marker just tear it apart and start grinding away at it in hopes to make it shoot faster than a E-grip on steroids !
If you want a good 10 percent (My conservative estimate) improvement in cycle time , its the Best mod a beginning player can make to the marker ,, Providing they can muster the patience and skill to follow the directions without using coarse sandpaper to "Make it quicker"
The original post on how to do it properly may have been posted by NaturalNewb (my apologies if I am incorrect) , and for trigger work , see a post in the upgrades section posted by Layman titled "Mother of all trigger jobs" .
If those names dont seem familiar to you, dont be suprised , they posted only infrequently when I joined this forum a few years ago , and the majority of current posters here have never read a post in an active thread from them .

So, based on what i was learning from all the posts i can say this is baisically what i cant skip :
- Clean the barrel, the marker at the end of every game.
- Remove the tank carefully and check o rings
- Use only water based oil
- Do not tear apart the gun, till i get familiar with it! right?
Hey guys, this is not only about grabbing a gun and shoot! There is a lot of things that i have to take care of. Anyway, i really believe that this is a great sport with lots of future.
You are all invited to come to Mexico and have a good paintball weekend!

You can do what I did.
When I took apart my A-5 for the first time I took some digi pics as I progressed through the disasembly. I had a manual but was being extra carefull to not screw things up upon reasembly.

The only way you are going to get familiar with your marker ,,is to take it apart carefully and put it back together carefully , !!
Most marker malfunctions after cleaning can be traced back to improper reassembly , so take your time and have fun .
After a while you will be able to notice if something doesnt sound or feel right when you shoot , like when your tank is about to run out of CO2 .
Remember to let us know what you think of the X-7 too , K ?
This is a good website for Tippmann Products , No doubt , but one that may be a bit closer to you geographiclly and has quite a few paintballers closer to Mexico might be this one .

I hang out there in the Recball forums under the same SN , who knows , we may see you at one of our weekend shoots one of these days !!

What`s up Dan!
Dude i am sacared to tear the gun apart! But anyway, this coming sunday
me and my coworkers will have some fun at Sycaryos field. It is a good
place with 5 different scenarios and i am pretty positive that we are going
to have fun.
This will be the third time that i use the x7 and based on all what i was
learning in the past days, i think that everything (regarding the marker),
looks in a pretty good shape though.
Now i cant tell to much about the marker cause this is my first one, but
its a fact that is not heavy at all, this maybe because i use a JT remote and
the shooting is straight and with good distance, but the gun is like a
guitar: before i play, i have to fix the sight for a while till the shoot goes
totally straight.
I am going to take some pictures this Sunday so i can show you guys a
little bit of this part of the planet, the fields, the marker and the mexican
paintball scene.
Have a good weekend people!

i am going to force my wife to presence all my surgery, so she can can help
me out if i get stuck when i try to fix my tragedy!
Peace folks!

Perhaps Brihards mistake was in the fact that Hoppes makes a Hoppes #9 gun oil, and a Hoppes #9 solvent. Whatever you do, don't EVER use the Hoppes solvent in a paintball gun. It is a heavy duty cleaner made to get get lead and gunpowder residue out of a firearm's barrel, and would probably reak havoc on a paintball gun's internals.
The Hoppes #9 gun oil and lube is a good, lightweight 3 in 1 oil that will do just fine in a paintball gun.
