I have a 1/8'' hose for my rt and cyclone I was just wondering if I got a QEV is there a way to get the hose off the barbs? I tried with the old fittings and I couldnt get them off the barbs.

Edit: From the Super R/T Tutorial where can you find those small o-rings so that the QEV is the right way?

If you can't get them off the barbs then what do you want us to say?

Us saying that you can get them off the barbs won't change the fact that you already tried and can't get them off.

-But if you do want my opinion anyway.  You can't get them off the barbs.  I tried too and only was able to once but it was after I had just slide the hose on the barb.  Now after time the inside of the hose seems to have shaped to the barb and won't come lose for me.

The smaller o-rings you can take off the barbs that you got from Clippard.  But normally you need like 3 of them so it goes the right way (because they are very small).  If you want a slightly bigger size check some paintball stores.

Buy new hose so when you have to cut the old stuff off you are ready to replace it.

The hose can be "cut" off by taking the point of a knife or an Exacto tool and making a small cut, with the point, the length of the barb. Then pull the hose. Though the cut is not going to be fully through the hose because of the barb ridges, when you pull on it, it will split.

So can I get new hoses from tippmann if I explain to them that I had the thick hoses but now have to take them off for a QEV?

Edit: Should I buy a QEV or http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=MEV-2 - MEV from Clippard? (I am really confused at what QEV to get on that site the MEV is a little easier but whats the diff?)

I don't know if tippmann will send you new hoses for that reason but they might.  If you don't ask, you don't know.

There ain't much of a dif between the MEV and the QEV.  The QEV I think let's out more air but the MEV lets out enough anyway so you could just go with the MEV.

I know that but is there any other sites with a barb and QEV for less Shipping and Handling or do I have to buy them from clippard?

I was going to call tippmann and ask them to send me new hoses because mine are like brand new (like 2-3 months not used much)

Tippmann won't just send you Super RT hoses for free unless you lie to them.

You are going to have to buy them from clippard I think.  I acctually made a thread myself about the Palmers QEV if they have anything that would fit 1/8 inch hoses.  So I guess we wait to see what people tell us.

But I think the cheapest and easiest deal is getting the barbs and the QEV from Clippard.  It's what I did.

The only reason I'm thinking of upgrade to QEV is cause I want to see it if will make a difference in bps.

So what should I tell Tippmann? and you paid $15 shipping?

I don't think you should lie to Tippmann.

I can't remember how much I paid for shipping but I paid exactly $36.88 CDN for the MEV and the Barbs and that includes shipping.

Alright you can take hose off of barbs but its not really worth the time. What you do it get a pair of pliers with soft jaws and keep pinching the hose at the end of the barb so that the hose will want to creep off the barb. You have to do it gently or you will cut through it. You are better off just cutting the hose and replacing it. If you want a QEV from Clippard then go with the MEV-2 or the MEV-2-NP (nickel plated). The MEV refers to Clippard's part number and stands for miniature exhaust valve because it is the smallest exhaust valve that they offer. They also offer a few different types of o-rings. I have all of these parts on my B/S/T under the same name on model98.net. I would give you the link but that would considered advertising which I am not allowed to do. I have various QEV kits, spacers, fittings, and hose so stop by there and I'll see what I can do for ya. If you don't see what you need just let me know.

Wow, I just found some macro that I had for my A-5 laying around in my room(I bought low pressure on accident ) That should work, right? And I am going to try and contact a company in Billings, MT because they do business with Clippard and they deliver to my area (ND) and I think it will be cheaper. If not I'll call them and make my friend from there pick it up from them and bring it next time they come.
