A little background info... the ball latch (detente) was shot, so I ordered a replacement and, well, replaced it and reassembled my marker after adding a carbine stock (the adjustable one from Tippmann), and I've been having a bunch of issues. Wildly erratic fps ratings at my local hunting grounds' chrono... having to manually reset my bolt in the field... horrible CO2 efficiency.

I'm thinking about replacing the O rings on the outer components to see if that helps, but I'm hesitant about totally stripping it since I don't hear any CO2 escaping or anything. At this point I'm at a loss, since the gun seems to be firing just fine, just has a hiccup every now and then.

Any ideas?

Did you put your ball detent in backward.... I bet you anything you did, if you're having to manually re-cock your marker in the field, that's usually the culprit. Open her up and make sure it's facing the right direction.

Nope, put it in just as it's shown in the manual. As I said, it's happening on and off, not every single shot (or repetition of shots)... after reading some other posts I'm thinking I should go ahead and replace the spring and O rings that are included in my repair kit I got from Tippmann, see if that has any effect (all those items are factory from around 2003)...

yep, rear-bolt (hammer) o-ring can cause the issue as well if it is worn or broken. I always check with the detent though, you wouldn't believe how many people used to come into my shop and pay me $45 to open up their marker, turn the detent around, and then hand it back to them.

Will do, can't hurt to double-triple check it anyway. I plan on opening her up, replacing the O rings on the front and rear bolts, checking to see if the linkage is bent, making sure I don't have an issue with the hammer's path into the valve body...

This may seem obvious, but make sure the power tube is securely screwed in. Not so tight that you crack it, but make sure they are tight. My ex-girlfriend had the same problem with her marker and that was the culprit. Check it out.

I checked the power tube and it's secure (did so by applying torque to the mounting bolts, which didn't turn at all).

I'm going to try and play a few games tomorrow, hopefully the new drive spring and O ring on the hammer will fix the issue. Otherwise, I'll have to check the marker's air supply hose to see if there's an issue, or replace the power tube completely... unless someone can give me another possible cause I'm overlooking.
