has given up the ghost. Totally erratic velocities, having to recock the poor thing every 2-3 shots... replaced everything but the power tube (which seems to be a tall order, given that I know little about the internals and haven't found a vendor that sells a drop-in replacement for the 98C)

So I'm thinking of switching to Spyder (MR1 or MR2, not sure which I'll go with)... just wondering if any of you have any opinions on the Spyders...

Thanks

If the power tube is cracked that can relate to the problem you are experiencing. 98's are extremely simple to understand. Check out the powertube and make sure it does not have a crack. If it does you can call tippmann up and get one relatively cheap.

If it is the powertube, you can get one from Tippmann as mentioned. If not, I wouldnt go to a Spyder. I havent hear much about the MR series. I would look back into a Custom Pro or even an A5.
