How you doing i am new to this site and i am having problems with my brank new a-5. never shot since i took it out the box. As soon as i put air to it and cock it its fine when i pull the trigger the gun fires and will not stop like it is not catching the sear again. The gun has a egrip on it so i tried the hole ttrigger system on my friends a-5 so i know its not the e grip. I took the gun air alll o rings are good and everything is in right. The only differnce in my gun then his is he has the old style bolt i have the new. but i cant figure it out any one help me

Sounds like the sear is not engaging the hammer notch. Check the springs. Could be the edge of the notch and/or the engagement edge of the sear are chipped or rounded off so they won't hold engagement.

the whole egrip handles sear springs and everything work on a different gun so it has to be in my gun not the grip

Try your Rear hammer on the other gun.

Dumb question but, is your tank full? Try one of your friends tanks on your gun.

tried a couple of differnt tanks, the thing is it does something thingg like when its out of air but if its a full tank it will keep going until its so low on air it stops or until i try n cock it again i think its the new rear bolt design they have bc my friends gun is the old style

I would call Tippmann. Tell them what is happening and if they know what the problem is, they will send you what you need. Most likely with out any cost to you.

I'm confused. You stated the grip works on other guns.......but you have to find someone to let you take their gun apart.
You let it go until a full tank empties? That should take quite a while and personally doesn't make sense....unless the "full tank" isn't really full, but close to empty.
Have you even looked at the sear engagement area of the bolt and compared the looks of yours to the gun you put the grip on? Even if the bolts are different, the engagement area is the same.
Does the bolt cycle smoothly by hand, with the grip off? Check to make sure the detent, the little orange thingy that keeps the balls from rolling out of the barrel, is in the right way......if it's not, cycling the bolt by hand, with the grip off, will cause a binding at the forward position AND possibly cause what you're describing.
Tippmann's number is 1-800-533-4831
