My unit Junior Ranks mess (social club/bar for the junior ranks) is having a theme party on Feb 9th- Miami Vice. It's gonna be a good go, but I never watched the TV show.

Is there any particular recommendations anyone can make for styles of tacky dress/ accessories?

Think 80's.

Baby Blue Slacks and jacket, with maybee a turquise tank top and to finish it, white dress shoes, no socks.

I guess the easiest way to go would be the cliche method if it is indeed "miami vice"

White jeans. Pastel colored button up shirt. White blazer.

And like Justice said, dress shoes, no socks.

I was thinking. Some variations of the basic theme:

Blue jeans on the slightly tighter side, bright tank top, acid-washed denim jacket, white hight-op sneakers. A shoulder-holster would work with this one if you could find it.

Short sleeved white button up shirt, skinny black tie, Members Only jacket with the sleeves pushed up. Whatever pants you wear, make sure they are higher-hemmed than you would normally wear.

And whatever you do, make sure you have some knock-off Ray-Ban Wayfarers.
