No, I'm talking about the whole show.  Like, it started out good, now it kinda sucks.

Agreed, but the same rule applies to all wildly popular TV shows. There's only so far you can go with certain premises-which is why I don't see why the Simpsons haven't dropped off the air yet. It's almost painful watching what used to be a great show struggle through tired jokes and worn out one liners.

Which is a shame, since Family Guy had some of the most original humor around.

family guy wasen't origional.

and the simpsons should have stopped 2 years ago. I will go see the movie but i'm sure it will be a waste of money.

The simpsons have tried too much in the last 2-3 seasons to be like family guy.

I've actually noticed the same thing about the Simpsons copying Family Guy...it's actually incredibly sickening to watch one of the oldest, most respected animated comedies in history sink to ripping off a one trick pony like FG.

However, I completely disagree about Family Guy not being original. The concept of combing fifties style one liners with controversial, relevant visual material was incredibly inventive for an animated series. It had been done in the Simpsons to a small degree, but Family Guy was, and I guess still is, built completely on it.

Simpsons was great, but there is no longer material for them. Though I have watched a few newer episodes, and found it to be very funny.

Simpsons is produced by Matt Groening, James Brooks, and Sam Simon.

Family Guy is produced by Seth Macfarlane and David Zuckerman.

King of the Hill is produced by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels.

/arguement

Also, the Stewie-devil thing is a reference to "Planes, Trains and Automobiles," which may have gotten that gag from something else.

Family Guy was hilarious for a while. I remember trying to get out of work early so we'd get back to the dorm early enough to watch it. After a while though, there was the sort of feeling that they were trying too hard to become south park, and pushing the envalope to see just what they could get away with. I don't think I've seen family guy in months, and I can't find myself losing any sleep over not having seen it.

I have taken a renewed interest in futurama though. I went and bought all the seasons.....theres a show that never fails to deliver.

In short, Family guy has been lately fraught with failure, surpassed by the dead show "futurama"

This point is NOT open to discussion however, it should be accepted as nothing but the truth.

Why don't you guys accept the fact that funny is relative?
