x7 is meant to be modable looks
sp8 can be modable in performance.
the question is if you want a gun that looks like an sp8?
cause I gurantee they will never make an x-7 mod like one.

You have told us nothing about yourself that would come anywhere near
giving us a clue as to which one would work best for your situation.
What are your ultimate goals for a marker? Looks? Performance?
How about giving something to us to work with ...

Well, going on knowing nothing about what you want, I would say go with the X7.

I would say go for the SP-8 it has looks, and also better performance the the X-7, otherwise you might as well get an A-5, since that is basically an X-7.

Right.. Definitely go with the sp8 100%.
It is a FAR FAR FAR better marker than the a5 and the X7 is not much different from a A5
SP8... DO IT!!

SP8-$300, uses ION internals, (electronic only..no playing in the rain.) board is capped at 17 (I think) doesnt come with a hopper. must use an angle feedneck adapter. you can get some ups for it...like a legal suppressor kit..IDK how but its legal X7-$300 (base model) comes with a hopper, can get and Egrip, R/T or just leave it mecanical. can get ups to make it look like what ever gun you want.

If you are looking for performance buy an ion they are cheap as chips! but if you want your marker to look like a real weapon real buy a X7.

it doesn't silence the gun that much ions are fairly quiet to start out with. playing around with the different barrel in my back yard i haven't noticed any real difference in the short and long barrels loudness.

If you're just playing in the woods an X7 or SP8 will be fine, but I think the X7 will be better because it is more durable. If you play a little speedball it really wont make a difference, but if you are really into speedball go with the SP8

Do yourself a favor (even though this is an old old topic by this board's
standards) and check out the video footage on Langside's website.
They're (the SP-8) pretty darn impressive markers when you see how
those boys use them.

personally i would get the SPT8, since i know alot of people are having problems with their X7...
if your looking for a tac tho, the X7 will do a much better job, if your going to be playing speedball the SPT8 will be far better than the X7

No, if you are going to play speedball get the ion. Its the same gun as the SP8, 100 dollars cheaper, and smaller.
If you are going to play woodsball and want a better performance, high ROF gun, I would say get the SP8.
If you just want to be able to change the look of your gun (costly and idk why), get the X-7.

the guiy who made tis thread said X7 vs SP8, so thats what i compared...
i know an ion is 100 bucks cheaper, smaller, and overall a killer speedball gun...
personally i dont like the X7 because its got the same performance as
an A5 but costs more and the mods for it cost a bijillion dollars each,
for the cost of one of the sim kits you could buy another whole gun...

I think the SP8 is not too large. You can walk on the field, hide behind a bunker, and it shoots paint. I think if he was looking for a small marker he would be saying "Autococker or Ion?".

Okay let me put it this way....you have 2 marker choices, one of which has an advantage, being small, and other than that they are the same. So logically the best piece of equipment for the job is an ion over the SP-8. I have an SP8, and can attest to the fact that the ion is the better choice, can you do the same?
He didn't say to play speedball, but it was naturally brought up in posts, as a possibility by other individuals, and as a result I commented that the SP8 is not the best choice, the ion is.
He is obviously saying SP8 or X7 b/c he likes the milsim look, it has no bearing on marker size, I was simply informing people of the facts.

Well...I don't care what you think about the gun, I am telling you what I experienced owning an SP-8, and dealing with my friends guns which include and ion and A-5 (basically an X-7). Does that mean you can't be "uber cool and pwn newbs" w/ your milsim gun? Of course not, you can do great with it. There is simply a more practical choice that offers a smaller more compact size and equal performance.

If you are really into speedball don't get a big bulky gun marketed to scenario/ milsim players. Get a gun that is small, light and compact. Of which the X7 fails, and the SP8 is medioce since it is pretty large.

i got an x7 because i dont care about size like commander said. i am not into speedball and i enjoy having a gun i can make unique. i cant really compare it to the sp-8 since ive never used one. all i can say is that i have an x7 and i have no complaints.
