I bought me a traxxas 2.5 rustler, top speed of 50mph, I payed around 200 for it used so I figure its an ok deal considering a new one is over 300 bucks. Now to put a different set of wheels on it, paint it and do a few engine mods. I ebay. Pics:

Get some footage of it in action. If you can, put "rock you like a hurricane" in the background of the video.

Every time I get the cash to buy one of those things, I turn it down. I can never justify buying one for no one out here races them. And the nearest hobby shop is like 45 min. away.

Shame. I've always wanted one. Good luck with yours, and have fun!

Good truck to start with.  Every shop carry's traxxas parts also which is a good thing. As far as engine mods keep it stock. The truck it stupid fast as it is. Also traxxas engines tend to run hot as it is, and mods usually bump up the temp and are harder to tune. If you want to go faster get the 3.3

Buy extra set's of rear shocks towers and shocks shafts. They are usually the first thing to break. Those dirt hawg tires in the rear are pretty good. Seeing they don't wear down on street but yet you can run off road. If you looking to buy new wheels and tires anyways like you said get road hawgs for the front and rear. The dirt hawgs on street have a lot of side bite so if you turn hard and fast you will catch and flip it.

That's awesome! I've also always wanted a nice R/C car, but it's just not on the budget yet. Have fun with it!

Eww gas...

You'll eventually get tired of gas and wish you had gotten electric.

I agree, my friend was into both, and the gas ones were far more fun. The electric ones were mainly slow and sounded like toys (which, I guess, they are).

plus the gas runs alot longer and you dont have to worry about how much time they have do to charging. But the fuel for them in my area is 22 bucks a gallon(but that will run you a long time)

My friend used to have one of those. Pretty cool. Isn't gas expensive as hell for those things?

Only if you're an idiot, or you're not into it. Gas is more picky, you have to maintain it more, but if you're interested in it, not a problem. Gas is faster, so if you are going for speed/ jumps, gas is the winner all the way.

My friend had a similar one, he let me use it the one day, and i crashed it into a curb. I ruined the body, and something else.

But it was fun seeing it flip.

thats because he didnt know what he was doing, you cant jump anything very high unless you have a ramp to come down on. If he just hit the ground flat no wonder he smashed it. Plus im not going to do anything extream with it untill I learn how to drive it good.
