Wich marker is better (for speedball of course). I know the ego's are one of the best markers but I also heard the dm series are very good markers. So wich one is the better marker and why? I heard that the dm's sometimes have problems in winter.

Both are awesome guns and for me, at least, it's tough to say one is better than the other. It's really personal opinion. You can probably find a DM for cheaper than an Ego though. Having shot a DM5 and Ego5, I liked them both. The Ego was a bit more appealing though.

Egos are smaller, tighter, and probably lighter. They are also faster and more effiecent. So I'm going to say the Ego is better.

I shoot an older DM series marker, I love it, but I'd sell it, and my mother, for a 07 Ego in a heartbeat.

what tournaments have you played in that matters whose gun is faster? thats right none.

Well i can give you the straight facts that ive been owning a dm ever since i got into the tournament scene. I love my dm5 and i refused to shoot a ego our sponsor told us he wanted us to rep planet eclipse. Yes egos are smaller and lighter but they have more kick than my dm5 and there way louder. I would take a dm7 over the 07 ego. just my opinion.

The 07 Ego doesn't have that much on a DM7, in any category.

Frankly, it comes down to personal preference. Some people like Egos, some people like DMs, they're both great guns, as long as you maintain them.

I prefer EGO and then I prefer Cyborg over Ego, the legend is pretty awesome as well.

I say Ego or Cyborg!

I have an 06' Ego. I have also shot multiple DM's and protos.

I must say that I like the ego better. It is smaller, and lighter.

hahaha, wow i havent been in the forum in forever...well any way, i have a nexus ego6, and ive shot a dm6 and dm5 and an ego5 . well the ego's do have more kick because they are lighter. they are easier to maintain, and shoot like heaven. The Dm's are rly smooth close to no kick, have problems with leaking, lots of Orings, but just as fast maybe evern faster. The ego i would say is a better buy just because it is more reliable, and becuase i love having a LCD screen telling me when to change the battery :)

That's right, none, but does that make the Ego slower? No. Ferraris are faster than Fords, but on a residental road does it matter? No, but I would still like to have a Ferrari over a Ford so I can brag about speed that I might just reach when given the chance.

An phil I totally agree, but then again, I would prefer a Legend to all markers out there.

it's all preference.  really, Egos for mid/front.  dm for mid/back.  any gun can be used for any position though, just some i'd prefer more than others.

Hey gabster your finally back.  Didnt you get a promaster right before you left the forum?  And now you have a Nexus Ego, very nice.

When the guns your looking at reach around $1000, mainly the differences will be feel, maintenance and looks.

DM's are nice! I agree but still, I like the weight, size, ease of maintenance, and programming of the Ego far more than the DM series of markers.

And anyone who says that "kick" is a factor in ANY paintball marker (with maybe the exception of the VM-68) is full of s***.

So true. Even an 8-year old who's show a .22 would say that. Paintball guns do not have kick.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you're looking at used guns, DMs start at $300, while Egos start at around $525. Newer models run relatively the same (DM5s go for about $450-$550), and the new DM8 is I believe more expensive than the 07 Ego. Just my $0.02, as I would buy a DM, but not an Ego, 'cause frankly that extra $250 doesn't do a thing for me.
