Hi everyone, I'm new to the board as I just got my first tippmann (A-5) When we went to play today I could not get my A-5 to shoot above 220fps no matter how much it was adjusted(when it should be shooting in the upper 200's) It was the first time the gun was used and I was running a Response Trigger and compressed air. Could the "air hog" cyclone/response trigger be causing the low fps? or is it just becuase I was using compressed air? Or is something wrong with the gun? (send it back to tippmann/new spring maybe?) Blue means you have a Low Pressure tank, which put out about 450 PSI, if im not mistaken. Tippmanns need to use High Pressure tanks, which put out about 850 PSI. This is what the stock Tippmann runs best on. When you use a low pressure tank, you are not providing enough "power" for the gun. Now, if you wish to keep your tank, you have a few options: 1.) Least expensive: Get a spring kit, and replace your drive spring with the hardest spring in the kit. This may not get your FPS all the way up to 280-300, but it will be an increase. These go for about $10. 2.) Most expensive: Get a Low Pressure Kit. This garuntees that you will be able to get your gun up to 280-300 FPS, as it makes your Tippmann able to use low pressure. The kit itself runs about 100 - on the cheap side - and then you need to buy an inline regulator, another 60-80. This will also give you more benifiets - less kick, more consitancy, and some say it quiets the gun down a bit. Also note that if you use this route, you will need to call Tippmann to get bigger supply hoses - the ones on the outside of the gun - for your Cyclone and RT, so they get enough air from the low pressure system. -------------

Wow! So I'm looking at spending +-$200 to get it working with my tank + getting those bigger external hoses from tippmann. The air tank I have is carbon wrapped and I bought it from a friend for $75, but they retail for around $200. Wouldn't it be wiser to just sell the tank and buy a high pressure one? |

| Which brand is it. Not all blue regs are low pressure regs. You can most likely buy a new reg for the tank and get it professionaly installed.
