Squeegie. Water and soap. Dry with cloth or paper towel. Blow off any remaining lint(sp?).

Yeah, exactly as RoboCop said. If you got your gun brand new, it should have all the tools (including the cleaning equipment) for the gun.

A squeegie is only for on field cleaning. You need to use soap & water to get it really clean

Ive also herd of some ghetto ways of doing it. Like shooting cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol. Although I would not suggest that

You should never shoot foreign objects through the marker. (Just for notice.)

I agree with Ayien.

You should never try to stick your foreign object into the marker!

since this seems like a good place to start...

How to Clean a Barrel Properly:

Step 1) remove barrel from marker

Step 2) place barrel into sink with warm water and dish soap

step 3) rinse with clean water

step 4) squeegee several times

step 5) dry with soft cloth as not to damage inside of barrel

step 6) place a drop of oil on barrel oring

step 7) reinstall barrel on marker

You forgot to mention that you should always disconnect the co2 tank before doing any maintenance on any part of the gun.

um... yes, you should take the co2 off before disassembling your marker... theres no need to just to clean your barrel... i find that while your barrel is drying is the perfect time to oil your gun as well... (since you need to remove the barrel and fire with the co2 on anyways...)

Doesn't matter. Accidents can and will happen. Better safe then sorry.

ok i have to bring up this minor detail.  having an "object" you can fit deep into a barrel really isnt an accomplishment, it just means you have a .68 pencil dick

I have used the alcohol soaked cotton ball method on the 98 flatline. Worked okay.
If anyone remembers trying to feed a squeegee down the barrel of the 98 flatline...well it was a bit of a pain.
So...if you had a small baggie full of these cotton balls soaked in alcohol...shoot one or two through...then straight shot the barrel and it would get you back in the game pretty quick. The flatline is horribly inaccurate when not cleaned properly. This was a quick, field expedient means of cleaning it mid-game. Doesn't take the place of a good soap and water cleaning..but it did the trick fairly well. The A-5 flatline was much easier to clean because you could just twist it off and squeegee it. Although it was never as effective as the 98 in performance (IMO).

Not sure who invented this...I think it might have been The Man...not sure though.

I agree with the foreign object thing to a point. But if you are too stupid to figure this out...send your gun back to where you bought it because you are not smart enough to participate in this sport.

I can clean out my barell ok.  i just use water mostly and if i need to i use dish soap.  but my spyder chops balls like a blender so im returning it but need to clean it out first.  paint is all over the thing that shoots the balls.  i think it has the sear spring wraped around it.  i was wondering if water would bee ok to pour down in there to get out the paint.  just so u know it is an electronic gun.

and does paint get all inside ur barell even if the gun doesn't chop a single ball? thanx for the help.

and will this problem happen with the 98c pro???

if you mange to break a ball with a CP you can clean it pretty well with a small cloth and your squeegee. since all the paint will be in the barrel and in the feedneck, which you can slide off quite easily.

and i wouldnt pour water in it, just remove the bolt, clean it and run your squeegee through the gun body and use a soft cloth to clean anything left over

I can't believe nobody remembered teh Rain-X...  This works well on most barrels except the flatline.  Coat the inside of the barrel with Rain-X and let it dry.  Give it a second coat and let it dry. Then polish it shinny.  The Rain-X will fill all those micro groves and pits making the inside of the barrel super slick. Makes it easy to shoot through a break too as the paint doesn't stick to the inside of the barrel. Three or four shots and you're ready to go again.    -- Can't use this on a flatline though since it requires some friction to work correctly.
