I installed the double trigger on my A5. The new trigger cannot travel forward enough to re-engage the cylinder locking mechanism in a consistent fashion. I re-installed the original trigger and everything works just fine

Is the part defective? Or possibly there is a trick to installing the double trigger on the A5?

Thanks,

are you sure that the trigger is an A5 double trigger? you may have a 98c one. other than that, just put it in the grip and look to see what is causing it to bind up. sometimes it will bind up (IDK why) when you put the safety back in. just take it out & try it again. good luck
oh and welcome to the forums.

I checked to see if the trigger was for the 98 and it can't fit my 98. I've tried installing it again and still the trigger must travel all the way forward and still its not engaging the cylinder catch more that 50 percent of the time.

Thanks

i had the opposite problem. when i put on the dead on double trigger i could pull and nothing. i added thin strips of electrical tape and then mine worked

i wouldnt suggest this be the first thing you do, but try sanding down the trigger a little, (and i mean a little) little bit. and that might fix the problem.

what do you mean by cylinder catch? do you mean R/T?
take the safety out & try to see if it works? if it does its binding up on the safety.
there is two small pins that the trigger is held in with. try taking out the pin that stops the trigger from swinging and see if thats it.
