Glassjaw @ The Church in Philly. Small church basement venue, gets hot as hell. I saw glassjaw, on my birthday ironically, when they came here back in December, amazing show.
Besides that I would say Cursive, they put on a brilliant show as well. I think I'm seeing them again when they come back. Saw them at the Starlight Ballroom, a medium sized night club, in Philly.

Already went to it. Jurassic 5 with X-Clan at the 9:30 club in DC. 1100 screaming fans (which is a PACKED house) and I was up front for the whole thing. The best part is this. J5 doesn't leave the stage after the show until they've signed everything put in front of them, given every photo-op anyone asks for, and talked to everyone who wants to talk. Those guys are **edited***ng awesome

I saw Pantera at the Worcester Centrum and that was probably the best concert I have been to. If I had a fantasy concert it would definetely be Tool (even though I have seen them 3 times) at the Worcester Palladium. If I could choose a band that no longer exists at a venue that longer exists, it would be Alice in Chains at the old Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel.

One was Jimmy Buffett at the Post Gazette Pavillion, Pittsburgh's large scale, outdoor, summer concert amphitheater. I was only a couple of rows from the stage on a perfect summer night, there were 50,000 screaming fans all around, a total carnival atmosphere. Even if you don't like Jimmy Buffett, one of his concerts are a total experience...this is why they they always sell out within hours of going on sale.
The other perfect concert experience was the polar opposite. It was Beulah in Pittsburgh's Rex Theater. Beulah was a great indie band, and one of my all time favorite bands. The Rex is a little stage theater, in Pittsburgh's historic South Side, where 500 would fill to capacity. My friend and I were so close we were leaning on the stage just a few feet in front of Bill Swan (the guitarist). By the end of the show, the keyboard player waived me onstage, handed me a pair of maracas and told me to keep a beat. Beulah often pulled fans from the audience to play tambourines and shakers, and occasionally even sing a bit.

One punk cannot live off one concert alone... It would have to consist of many punk and ska bands, like Social Distortion, Rancid, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, and the like....

Animal Collective at the variety playhouse. The venue is a good size, not very big. They played for about 2 hours. I experienced sounds I had never thought possible. It was awesome.

Chuck in a few of my other favorites:
-Ska-P (which is a Spanish band and will probably never play within the US, but they're great)
-Flogging Molly (frankly, they're awesome, and go with anything, and I just want to see them in concert)
-Planet Smashers (never seen 'em in concert, their CDs might be better than their performances)
-MC Lars Post-Punk Laptop Rap (saw him with Streetlight Manifesto at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, he was awesome)
That's all I can come up with right now. If I had to pick the perfect normal length show, it'd be Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto. I missed the two of them together on their tour last year because I couldn't get a ride to their concert, and I'm still pissed.

Small jazz club, brick walls, wood tables, summer evening, humid, windows open, full of smoke, the sound of the bartender making a drink in the back, Wes Montgomery making the impossible seem effortless, smiling and laughing at the end of each of his solos, the energy in the air... unimaginable
Mmm.

Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, Radiohead, and Flotation Toy Warning on an Icelandic hill/mountain side overlooking a large body a crystal blue water, a decent amount of psychedelics to be shared amongst friends (optional, seeing as how these four bands together at once would be a trip in itself), cool breeze, sunny but not too bright with the show carrying on past a beautiful sunset into a cloudless night, no sign of humanity for miles besides the show itself, small number in attendance (no more than 100).

Best concert I've been to=
Big D and the Kids Table Halloween 2006. Two days, 800 person venue.
or
Dropkick Murphy's and Big D and the Kids Table in andother 800 person venue.
A concert I want to exist, but never will:
Dropkick Murphy's, Flogging Molly, Big D and The Kids Table, Streetlight Manifesto: Avalon Boston(Holds like 1600) starting at 5 p.m., each band gets a Headlining length set.

Wow im suprised this did not fail horribly, I forgot to post mine. It was up at The Eagles ball room in WI, Slayer, Lamb Of God, Children of Bodom, Mastadon, and Thine Eyes Bleed. Not a big fan of mastadon or thine eyes bleed, but to make that my dream concert I would only need to add Pantera to the list, then meet them all after the show.

I saw that show here at Mr. Small's.
I'd love to see some combination of Rancid, Social D, Streetlight Manifesto, and Against Me.

Also RBF and streetlight. I saw them two days in a row and it was amazing.
I also saw them on the tour before that together. Was very happy with both, but the second time was better with New Keasbey being out.

I just saw Defiance, Ohio, Witch Hunt, Citizen Fish, and Leftover Crack last night at OSU.
I think the best show I've seen was either Defiance, Ohio in Cleveland or Cursive w/ The Thermals in Cleveland.

When I saw the Thermals play with Cursive, I thought they were not all that great. Not that they were bad, but I just didn't enjoy the set all that much. But when cursive played... <3.

i'm going to list the bands i have seen in concert:
Rancid, Streetlight Manifesto, Street Dogs, Social Distortion, Bedouin Soundclash, Zox, Flogging Molly, MxPx, Whole Wheat Bread, The Unseen, Green Day , Reel Big Fish.... i think i'm forgetting some. but others just arn't worth mentioning.
so far i have to say the best one was Rancid, just because they blend ska and punk very well, and overall put on a great show. But it really depends what mood i'm in.

As far as just a cool show to watch, NOFX win. They play like crap live, but the 15 minute conversations with the crowd Fat Mike has between songs makes it worth it.
