Hey everyone, I just picked up my tippy for the first time in a long while
because I have time to get back into the sport. Well I decided to replace my
bolts with a KAPP set I had lying around. I stripped the bolt ( I was NOT
using excesive force), and am left with a useless marker. Kapp bolts suck.
Any advice on what to do?

Get a stock bolt and learn not to mess with what isn't broken?

There are about sixty thousand posts on these forums on how to remove bolts on which you have stripped the Allen sockets...with diagrams (my posts).

I've always had good luck with Kapp's products, especially their SS screw sets. Sure you didn't cross-thread them?

well as i was looking for some contact cement i came across a beat up allen
key that fit the stripped bolt perfectly. it ended up being a lot easier than
expected, but thanks for your help.

I am going to have to call you on this one. You don't strip the receiver. The 10-32 Allen machine screws used to hold the receiver halves together are threaded into replaceable nuts. If the threads in the nut strips the bolt comes out easily. Then the nut can be removed with a dental pick.

The nut can strip no other way. It cannot turn inside its capture hole without cracking the receiver and that just cannot happen from Allen wrench torque on the screw head socket.

thats one of things ive never had experience with, ive never stripped or overtighten my bolts, cept one time when i screwed the front sight screw a little much and couldnt make the sight depress to let the elbow down.
