If you buy the 98 you will need a hopper. They're all basically the same, but the A5 is easier to clean and make all milsim -------------

Well, id say the A5, because with the 98, you'll either get a cyclone probably, and if not, then you'll want to put a centerfeed kit on it and so on. -------------

'98, because even though you DO need a hopper for it, you can take a Halo-B with you, Cyclone only works for the '98, X-7 and A-5. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

98 cause: you can stick a halo, pulse, reloader b etc. on it... and take it with you . (like tallen said) It's cheaper than the A5 It has Anti Chop Technology! |

Angel, or any high end electro....out of those 2 choices... 98. For people who want him to go spend 500 dollars on upgrades and what not "hey you can centerfeed it, e-bolt it, and cover it in gold and mad bling"....since that's a practical use of money. If you're going to spend that much money, you might as well get a hugh end gun.

1) I have been on this forum since 2000-2001-ish since I first got my tippmann 98 (powerpack), years ago under another name (something w/ 666 in it...maybe paintball player666 or something?), regardless I never was very active in the forum and forgot my name and password....so then several years later i decided to post on something...forgot my name...and made a new 1 (this 1). So in essence I have more then 82 posts, and regardless that does not negate or lessen the truth in my comments. 2) True it is a "Which gun is best" section of the forum, but perhaps it would be better to actually discuss the pros and cons of guns and how they compare, instead of posting 80 stupid polls..."which is the best gun EVER? Wow, I mean... Wow! Seriously, this is a forum, not an archive, and while yes, there are certain things that are annoying as all heck that we relegate to the "use the search function" auto-answer, a forum is based around threads of people asking a question and getting an answer. This isn't a self-help archive, it isn't even trouble-shooting or tech-support, it's a community and in communities, people talk to one another. No mater how many "which marker is best" polls someone puts up, they still deserve to get a decent answer. Also, asking a question isn't a good reason to go off on someone. Now, if someone gives bad information or falsifies something, then they're fair game. But being a general ass to someone for asking a legitimate question is no way to act. I put up a "which gun" poll a few days ago, heck, I've put up several over the past few days, but I don't see you going off on me now do I? The reason? I'm asking about markers that are either rare, uncommon, or tournament grade out of the box. Not everyone can afford those kinds of markers though, not everyone NEEDS to have an Angel LCD, Matrix, Ego, or 'cocker, but everyone who has even a single brain-cell in their head will always seek to make an informed decision, and what better way to do so than asking the opinions of others. Clarification: a) I didn't attack (nor intend to) the question asked in the poll...besides saying i think using polls is not the best way by which to deduce, which gun is actually best or the benefits of a specific marker. b) I understand not everyone can afford tournament grade markers. I suggested the 98 since I feel it is the best value. I then commented on people who say he should get the 98 (or the A5), because of the upgrades he can put into it, upon which time they list upgrades that cost a significant chunk of change when all of them are done. The point being it is dumb to buy a gun so you can upgrade it excessively. I feel it makes more sense to buy a gun you need. If he the tippmann is fine for what he is doing now, great. If he decides down the road he wants to add things piece meal, thats a good idea. However buying a low end marker for the expressed purpose of adding significant capital into the marker seems wasteful and unnecassary in my opinion. Simply put if the choices are all he needs, his personal preference, or all he can affords they are both good choices, but buying a low end gun on the basis of all the upgrades you can then in a relatively short time put into it is stupid. It makes more sense to save money of a short period of time and then buying a better marker.
Out of my 2 posts the one you actually quoted was in response to tecumsah, who basically said that: a) i only have 82 posts (that negates the impacts of my statements?) b) i should accept polls as they are in the which gun is best section. I countered (I will admit, unnecassarily harshly, and not that clearly), that while polls are useful when used for a purpose. A simple discussion which then can be looked at, and have a clear discussion on the pros and cons of a set of equipment.
