waste of time and money, especially money. that stuff costs 25bucks for a .5 you can only really smoke like one or 2 hits, the next day or later on in the day it wont work as well if u do it make sure u dont have much to do for like an hour |

Salvia can be an amazing exprience, but only if you're properly prepared for it. Have a trustworthy friend to watch you, clear your head of any clutter, don't play any music, and turn the lights off.
It's not like any other psychoactive, so there aren't any effects to compare it to. Generally, it will hit you within a minute, but it's basically impossible for you to anticipate what will happen. The first time is always the scariest or most nerve-wracking. Expect to be hurled into another world. By the way, salvia is in no way a party drug. lol I just finished up a huge salvia phase... nought 30 grams off then net, used 5-10, quit. Sold it all, should have given it away. If you ever get into it, rush is the perfect music to play basicaly it's all internet hype in my experiences. not worth your money imo. |

I tried some this weekend, and thought it was bogus. I've never smoked ANYTHING before, so one would think it would work quite well. Granted, we only had a gram of 15x for three of us, but I would think that would be enough for an okay trip for a first-timer. If anything, I felt a sort of "buzz" or cloudy feeling for a while, but that's it. It WAS a lot easier to become inebriated afterwards, but they may have just been a coincidence. Quite a few hits, though some may have been wasted, since the gram was seperated into three different papers. I think I was holding it in right, though I wouldn't know. The two guys I did it with said they didn't feel anything either. We're going to try it again next month when we go back to the beach with a higher "x." Anything above 10x, really. My guess is that you didn't feel anything simply because it was your first time and because of the method of smoking. As for after effects, you may feel mentally fatigued, and you might be sweaty. To me, it sometimes feels like a mild marijuana high. You should be completely normal within an hour, but you will probably still be dumbfounded as I was my first time. Biggest waste of club-funds ever. This coming from the school rated to have the #1 most active NORML club in America. All anyone in NORML does is sit around and talk about where to buy weed, and they call it an executive meeting. They get campus funding for it. A lot of funding. 13x is fine, they work well, you will trip no problem, as long as it burns well, you inhale correctly and hold it for 30 seconds. i didnt think its that bad. there a guy that sells it for extremely cheap out of his store about a 2 minute wwalk from me. he also has this stuff called Legal weed, which tastes like cardboard but if you eat it you stay high for like 5 hours.

Hahah do i have some stories on this subject. I've personally never done salvia, been offered many times though. I was at a party and my friend, lets call him P, he packed a ROOR up with some green and topped it off with a big pinch of salvia. The room we were in was packed with people, bad idea. There were two dogs in the room as well, my friends dogs. So, P took the hit, milked up the ROOR and sat back. After 30 seconds or so he was going nuts, on all fours talking to the dogs, saying things like "YOU ARE SMARTER THEN ME" and conversating further with the dogs. Ha, he had a good time. After a while, everyone stopped laughing at him and freaking him out and he came down. Good times, if you're going to try this drug, i suggest being in the right mood and state of mind as everyone else said. Setting matters too, just calm down and i'm sure you will enjoy your trip. -------------

Being calm is key, when my ex girlfriend did it in her room, she looked like she was stuck on the railroad tracks in front of an oncoming train. Other friends of mine have said that they start seeing themselves from a birds eye view. Another time in a cramped car on the side of the road, my friend was using a lighter without the protective metal tip and he couldn't move and the lighter had set itself ablaze. Several friends, including myself have felt threatened by inanimate objects. I was coming down from it at school once and I was certain that everyone was looking at me. It all makes me wonder what sort of long term affects it might have. ------------- |

it's better effects but it takes more (obviously to chew it) and you have to have the bad taste in your mouth for half an hour. (you don't really care by 20 mins lol). I also ate alot once after chewing it... this was before I went to bed... the main high lasted at least an hour (could have been much more, I have little memory) Then I woke up the next morning with a strong pot style high for another half hour. I remember being in the wild west that's about it. |

That depends on who you are. In my opinion: What's the point of doing it if it's not fun? If you do it for other reasons than fun, does that not mean you have a problem? I have always found it fun, I just quit intoxication alltogether. (get freggin cravins for pot or salvia every once in a while, mad cravings... I hate this thread Deponds on what you mean by "play with". It's usually not smoked everyday like a lot of people with pot. (Thankfully, I never even got close to pot everyday when I did it) If you smoke weed (or more?), salvia is not a big deal. You just will never be prepared for what will happen that first time (not meant in a bad way, words just can't explain it) |

Drugs are bad scene, I don't even know what life is without coming across so many temptations for ten dollars at any given point. I mean, hell... it's 4:30 am and I am alone in my room, the party is long over and Im still wired out of my mind. Sleep isn't even an option.

I've had those nights, I try and do something productive otherwise I'll just lay in bed for hours not being able to sleep. Usually I just sit turn the volume on my amp really low and just jam.

I figured I'd give it a shot. I gave him $15 and he grabbed a fi**edited**ll of leaves out of the bag and jammed them in an envelope, he would have given me more but I couldn't physically fit it into an envelope. I gave it a shot with the waterfall bong pictured earlier, which barely made me feel at all different. Mild body high with maybe a little sweating. I then dug out my dad's old home made bong and took as good of a hit as I could out of this pretty primitive device. Just as I was beginning to doubt this stuff was any good it hit me. Extremities felt heavy, I felt sweaty, and the heaviness in my arms felt like it was coming and going like large raindrops, I was prepared for things to get really interesting, but it faded almost instantly. Maybe if I try something resembling a decent bong and a good torch lighter, but so far I'd have to say it's lame. |

Leaves? I thought the part of the Salvia Divorium plant that is usually smoked was from the roots? I know when I bought it is was ground up almost.

I've never heard of salvia roots having any psychoactive properties, but I could be wrong. I've had salvia ranging from pot green to dark purple to almost black, so it's possible that it just resembled a crushed up root. I tried just a normal pipe last night and figured out if you hit it really hard you can get it hot enough to work, but this was basically a one-hitter and i'm sure it will be better with a quality bong. Anyways, doing it in the dark was pretty cool. I didnt think I was an inanimate object, but it was a nice little trip. |

Untrue. Salvinorin A, the active chemical in Salvia Divinorum, breaks down at a much higher temperature than the active chemicals in other smokables (THC, nicotine, etc.). A torch lighter and a bong are the way to go. Since Salvinorin also takes longer to absorb into you lungs than most chemicals, you're going to want to take a large hit, then hold it in for 20-30 seconds. Try to get another similar hit in before it kicks in. It's all about getting the most Salvinorin possible before the trip starts, because once it does, no amount of extra hits is going to get you "higher," it will just prolong the effect. When I was on probation I did some research on Salvia and smoked it quite a few times. Overall, I think it's a waste of time. You could just go buy some real drugs for the price it costs... -------------

I guess I may as well describe a few trips I've had, or at least a few of the dumb things I've done on Salvia.
The first time I did it I was in the backseat of my friend's car on the way back from the headshop, and I smoked it out of a bowl. I cashed the bowl in 2 hits and all of a sudden I was on fire. My entire body felt hot and sweaty, and I hallucinated flames on my arms. That was just about the entire experience. Another time I jumped off my friend's 17-foot tall deck (onto pavement) because it "didn't look that far down." That same day I saw my buddy have a full-out conversation with his Crunchwrap for about a minute. I've also had a tree and a lightbulb talk to me and all kinds of other crazy stuff. Still.... Real drugs > Salvia -------------
