JJ Ceramics are where its at if you're looking for a great barrel but dont want to dish out a lot of cash. Way better than the Tippmann line of barrels.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

I first bought a Tippmann 12 inch werks (sniper) Barrel for my 98. In my opinion it's better than the one it came with. That is about it. I then bought a 12 inch Lapco Big-Shot for my A5. It looks cool on the gun and provides more accurate shots than the stock one. I will give it that much. Then I bought a J&J 12inch for my 98. let's just say my A5 also has a J&J on it now. For the money you can't go wrong with a J&J! As far as length goes that is up to you. I happen to think a 12 inch looks best. That is the only difference between 12 or 14 inch. Just the looks, length has nothing to do with accuracy ( It's a paintball gun not a rifle!). I would not recommend anything longer than a 14 inch.

i read that the longer your barrel you just end up wasting co2 and you have to turn up your velocity more. is this true cause thats why i was just going to go with the 12"

Once I got my A-5, I wanted a barrel so I bought the 16" Tippmann barrel.  The accuracy with it is decent, but if a ball bust in it, it takes forever to get it clean and shooting straight again.  I'm soon to buy a 14" J&J Ceramic.

Anything better than a J&J thats extremely accurate that anybody would recommend?  I wanna do my research instead of just going out and buying a barrel.

Yes, that is true.  But there is no appreciative difference between a 12" and a 14" barrel.  But as a good rule of thumb, anything over 10" really isn't necessary unless you're going for looks...

as long as your barrel isn't more than 14 inches, (mabye 16 depending on the design of the porting) you won't waste air and you'll get the accuracy you want.
