I have started using an Inline Palmer Stabilizer (regulator) last year on my A5. It worked great with HPA keeping a 2-5 FPS range; however recently it doesn't seem to work. I get the same performance with or without the unit attached.

I have never taken the unit appart and wanted to have a video or diagram to show me the propper way to maintain the reg. does anyone know when i can find this or what to do?

Rather than thinking about taking it apart, first run a few drops of oil through it. Then INSTALL A GAUGE so you know what the regulator's output actually is!

With the Stabilizer, you should be running the marker a couple of hundred pounds lower than the 800 psi coming out of the HPA tank. It is possible to have a really good HPA tank's built in regulator perform very well. But, even with the uniformity of a good primary reg, the addition of a secondary reg should maintain shot-to-shot uniformity better as the tank pressure varies from full to empty.

In other words, as tank pressure drops the primary reg may keep the velocity variation low. But, over all pressure output will drop...lowering average velocity. With the addition of the secondary reg, pressure into the marker over the entire range of pressure in the HPA tank will stay much closer to the starting pressure...you get the same pressure, and thus the same velocity, out of the secondary reg when the tank is 4500 psi or 1000 psi.

With only the primary reg (the one in the HPA valve) as pressure in the tank drops from 4500 psi to 1000 psi, though output is still consistent, ball velocity may be 25 fps less than when you started.
