Would it be possible to first off make an a-5 rear cocking? if you could would you be able to centerfeed it by taking the cyclone off and moding like a 98 centerfeed onto it so it stays in place with the screw that holds the cyclone inplace?

1. You probably could, but there's no need to.

2. People have centerfed their A-5s, but it's a lot of work.

Pics?
So the cocking knob doesnt get in the way of the centerfeed
For speedball so you dont have a huge profile

Ive been thinking that that's prbably gona be the next mod for my us-5.

it uses a tippmann 98 feedneck anyways, so why not?

Do you think the people that make them would install them to a us-5 or am I on my own for this one?

Ah you're right... I know jeep 98 custom had one... I think it was painted blue. If you really are curious, look him up and check out the threads he posted in in late 04 or early 05.

Carl does your US5 cock in the front (like an a-5) or back (98 style)?

Well the us-5 cocks in the front like the a5

But mine is ebolted so it doesn't cock anyways.

Did you get your ebolt to work? I was wondering when you were going to get done and post some pics maybe even a vid.

Ebolt has been working for a while

Today I found a way after hours and hours of trial and error to put the battery case on... even replaced the switch.

I'm leaving it in suspense though, until my tank and gauge come in which should be any day next week.

Sorry to jack though...

They would probably do it, I mean, to centerfeed a 98 you need to do a little custom work anyway. Whoever would do it would probably charge more though. I havent held a US5 in a long time, do you know if the little plastic cap that covers the side feed hole on a 98 will cover a US5? Seeing as you are doing a lot of ghetto work anyway (Not saying that it looks or performs ghetto), I would just JB weld the little hole so it looks nice

You can use the rufus-dog center-feed on a US-5. That answer the question?

Yes, half the question...i just have to email them and see if they'd do it to a us-5 or if i'm on my own.

SSOK what do mean by the little plastic cap?

KP Customs still does Centerfeed mods. I know cutting a 98c was like $90 or something like that. He can thread the neck with just about any threads to accept clamping feednecks from other guns.

Well, got this back:

We have not done a center feed on a US-5. We are working on a part that attaches the Cyclone Feed to it but it's still in the build phase. When we do a 98, it is put into a fixture we made to hold in place and generally tell you where to mill the hole. The US-5 will not fit in that fixture as it is built just a little different.  I'm sorry but we are not a custom shop which is what you would need. Also I'm not sure if the Center Feed we make would butt up to the US-5. It was made to fit the 98 Custom/Custom Pro to an exact fit including the plug for the old side hole.

Guess that means i'm doing it custom... hopefully my tank is waiting for me when I get home.

I don't mean to be diffuicult, but I have to ask, is there any reason that somone would want to modify an A-5 with a center-feed and rear cocking handle, when simply buying a different marker would be much easier/cheaper? The A-5 cocking handle is a very nice touch, especially for-milsimmers, I can't imagine putting speedball features on a marker that was designed more for woodsball. Besides, an A-5 doesn't have any speed feeding issues with the stock cyclone anyway, even if you wanted to speedball it.

Cypher, for the same reason you'd center-feed a '98. Greg Smith of OMHW has one and loves it, especially due to the fact that he has a high ROF e-bolt in it. I built one for a friend of mine, it blazes. Just because they are considered "Speedball" features doesn't make them any less valuable in the woods. Center-feeding an A-5 that is setup correctly would make a fairly tight speedball marker; certainly no longer than a Timmy. Moreover, a lot of mods like these are simply done to prove we can do them. I'm still planning out my e-Tigershark. What's the point of an e-Tigershark when it all comes down to it? Simply put, I'm building it just to say I did.
