cause your 98 does not house an internal combustion engine like the C3 does.

Wow. This thread brings back memories. The C-3 uses combustion, which means it's actually lighting the propane on fire to shoot the paintball. Your 98 can't do that. Propane is filled to like 20 or so PSI, and that's not near enough to even cycle a normal paintball gun.

You should wander over to the ideas section and read the sticky on the C-3. Actually, it wouldn't hurt to wander around and check out the stickied posts in all of the sections.

Actually, propane is stored at 275psi. enough to fire some guns. However it lacks the ability to simply because the amount of propane need to cycle a gun cannot be released through the power valve in whatever time it is opened by the hammer.

Also this would cause massive discharges of propane and would allow stupid people to shoot flaming paintballs. (likely killing them selves in the process) therefore the C3 was designed to ignite the propane inside the gun and use the expanding exhaust gases to propel the paintball. rather than the propane directly. this also allows the C3 to function with a very tiny amount of propane since when ignited propane expands to over 275 times its volume, so the necessary amount of propane to fire tens of thousands of shots can be contained in a very small tank.

you can't put a propane tank on a 98 for those reasons, and now you've learned about the c3 as well.
