I was thinking of keeping my regular paintball gun and also buying a paint pistol so if i totally run out of ammo for my tippmann i could just pull out my pistol and TRY to get people with that. But im not totally sure if i should do that. So i wanted some suggestions on the thought.Thanx!!

or you could carry another pod where your pistol would go, somthing that carries about 20 times more paint, shoots faster, more accuratly, and you already have. or you could be a noob and buy a pistol.

Playing with a pistol is great. If you're going to do it, play with just a pistol. Sidearms are impractical.

Don't buy a pistol. Just buy a pod pack. I got a pistol and regretted it.

pistols are dumb, the first gun i bought was a pistol, i sold it 2 months later, after i had to fix everything twice over.

PGP2K: No problems, ever. Reliable, efficient. Great to use and makes for a really fun game. It's even stock class.
There are a lot of crappy pistols out there. The PGP is not one of them.

Yeah, you wouldn't believe how fun pgp battles are. kinda makes me wish stock class was a bigger deal,

I can also say that I really like my Tac-8

How is the Tac-8? I'm freekin drooling over that gun right now. I'd definitely love to have one as a sidearm. I'm going to be using a TAC CAP on my A-5 (with 50 round pods so I can reload quickly w/out spillage). So if I'm running out of ammo, that would be a nifty backup.

Its really nice to have, it weighs just as much or less than my Zeus, let me go check.
Scratch that, it weighs about half what my Zeus weighs.
Its only downside is that its big. About the size of a DEagle, which is about normal when you look at other sidearms. Def worth the money.
If I can ever get out on the field.

Those tac caps aren't pods. They have an open bottom because they are simply mini gravity hoppers.
I don't know what everyone's problem is with pistols. If you use a holster, you're not taking up pod space and anytime that anything goes wrong with your marker during a game that you can't fix immediately, you've got another option. Whenever I forget to gas up between fields (which happens far too often) and run out of air in the middle of my first game, I grin because I "have" to use my pistol. I think I subconciously do it on purpose now. I think my TAG8 is more accurate than my A-5, too. If I had enough money to go with two pistols and about 50 clips, I think I'd end up preferring that setup.

I've a Tiberius 8 and I'm toying with the idea of getting a second one, just because I love pistols (I shoot IDPA.) Getting a pistol is really really expensive compared to pods, but they only fix the problem of your gun running out of paint. A second gun will fix any problem you have, especially if you play with friends and not at a range so you can just drop your main. Problem is Tag 8 mags are reeeeaaally heavy, so carrying a lot would be a burden.

They arn't that heavy, I think I could carry five or six np. You shoot IPDA though? What are you shooting?

I plan on carrying six mags, but it was suggested earlier to carry 40 mags and use it as a main, and I just don't see that being fun. In IDPA I shoot my CZ-75B in ESP and my M&P9 in SSP. I'm a marksman in both, very close to expert. I'll could probally qualify for expert if I went and shot the qualifier today, but I'd have to miss a regular match and I'd rather get the practice in.

I guess that would be a little excessive, 40 magazines is heavy for anything though. I wouldn't want to carry 40 delta 68 magazines, if not heavy then bulky as all hell.

Actually, I said 50 clips, but hadn't really put too much thought into carrying them as it was just a passing idea. Bandolier strap? A wild guess at half a pound each would only be 25 pounds so no problem. Plus, I'd look BA.

Even with a bandoleer no way. Have you messed around with these things? They're heavy as **edited**. About a full pound each. I cut off the belt strap and the tie down and I'm using the loop the tie down used to go through to hold two 3-mag carriers on my belt and they're pretty heavy. I might be able to lug around a bunch with a backpack, but that wouldn't exactly be tactical. Plus they're like 30-40 apiece, it cost me a fortune to get what I have now.

The whole point of the pistol is to go in light. In the rec games that I've played with the PGP2k it's been up to 15 on 15, and I've got ten or so shots, but I also have a team backing me up. There are often new players at the field, so I can give them some direction, lead the charge, and do some damage. Even empty I can get some surrenders if I'm bold about it.
You've got to carefully pick out the shots you can make from the ones you might make, and the shots you shouldn't bother taking in the first place.
The caves have the advantage of darker areas. People are so used to being shot at as soon as they peek out that if you let them, they'll walk right by you, or out into the open into 'cover' directly across from you, and you can take your time putting a paintball into their side. Scares the crap out of a good many of them too.

many people here keep saying a pistol is a noob choice, they suck and so on. but they obviously havent run outta paint and been saved by a pistol.
i got a delta .68 and its served me well. its accurate and reliable. but to get it accurate it will go through more gas.

why not empty the paint of the pistol into the marker that you're going to have a better chance actually hitting someone with? Presto. $100 10 round pod. GG.
