Ok, I bought a halo, used, and it works fine when I turn it on, but when I stop shooting the drive cone wont stop turning and causes the loader to stop working, then I have to turn it off then back on again to start shooting again. What is the problem? Thanks.

Clean the eyes to start. The loader may be sitting too low or too high and is thus messing with the orientation of the balls in front of the eyes. Try letting it sit higher or lower.

I'm not sure it has eyes, when I asked the kid who I bought it from, he said "What eyes?"

I guess that could do it... Open the loader up (take off the shells) and check to ensure that there are two sets of wires coming out of the back of the board: one on the left and one on the right.

Hybrid is correct. After you clean the "eyes" insert the feed neck into the feed collar until it bottoms. Then pull it up about 1/8" and clamp it in place. If it still doesn't perform correctly try raising or lowering it in the feed collar.

I had a similar problem with mine. I inserted an "O" ring inside the collar so the Halo wouldn't go all the way to the bottom. Worked fine after that.

Right now I am back to having a problem. I had a crack develop so bought a set of the suicide shells off Ebay. Love 'em, and the hold just a few more paintballs than the standard shell.

My son gave me a Cheetah board for my birthday. It doesn't seem to program correctly...at least the lights don't sequence as described in the instructions. We played last Saturday and I kept having problems with the marker just stopping feeding while still full. New set of batteries and the eyes were cleaned when I installed the new board.

Could be the spacing of the column of paint...could be mis-programing on my part, or could be defective.

Is it a V3 Cheetah, Bruce?

Found the problem, it was a cut eye wire on the eye harness.

Is there specific identification on it? It is less than a year old.

I have been talking about the problem with my son this afternoon. It has been a while since I installed it. So during play on Saturday I was a little vague on procedures in turning it on and off. I may have inadvertently put it in "Program" mode.

But, even when I first installed it we seemed to have a problem getting the proper color LED if we followed the instructions in the manual. Right now my thoughts are to put the OEM board back in and solve some of the other problems I had with the marker . (we haven't played for several months due to college visits and other events significant in his senior year) Fiddling with the marker made me miss almost 2.5 hours out of 4.5 hours of play.

No, it's just the programming used. the V3 is the newest and most problematic code, and one of the major issues is the random unjam that it goes into even when the stack is full.

What color does the LED turn when you hold it down (ie, go into programming mode?)

Amber (Orange?)

Probably V3 then. TAG is releasing one more software version/board, so it couldn't hurt to get it flashed once the time rolls around:

I engaged in live chat with TAG sportz. Anna (I think) directed me to a forum and said that there was a very smart guy there who could help. This is what I got from him:

First take your eyes out and clean the slot and the eyes with a q-tip.And put fresh black electrical tape on top of it. Make sure that there is no hole for light coming in. After the changes now it time to calibrate. You have to hold the button till the reversing starts, tap the button till the cone starts to spin forward and than add extra 10 taps on top of it.

New software is, as you said, not available until July 4. I haen't tried this programing fix yet. I'll post the results here.
