These are the 2

A-5

pro's-

-upgradeability

-hopper

cons-

-price

-hopper

US-5

pro's-

-price

-electro and mech grip included

-hopper choice

con's-

-lack of upgrades

-hopper

-Spyder threads

I just can't seem to commit to one yet but I'm thinking A-5.  For those that remember me doing this post a while back, an Impulse project wedged itself into priority.

They are both great markers.

The spyder threads can be a pro or con but you can swap them out easily.

I guess it would depend on what upgrades you would want to do in the future. Because if you were going to go millsim, than I would go A5 because I am unsure if the shrouds would fit the US-5 or not (they might, opsgear has pretty crappy customer service reps)  But for non-millsim, I would get a US-5 with an electric hopper, it's a good all around marker. Either way, millsim or not, I have seen some amazing A5s and some amazing US-5's it all depends on what you want.

I can answer any questions about the US-5 you have through PM or here.

I won't add anything that doesn't add performance.  Does the US-5 have any upgrade boards or upgrade programs in the works?

No upgrade boards.

I'm sure you could mod one in if you really wanted to at the time.

I asked PCS last year, and I couldn't get a clear answer as to upgrade boards though some of the people on my forum with newer US-5s have claimed to have a 4th rate of fire with even faster fully auto. (Can't confirm though)

Maybe you could email PCS but I don't know if they would tell you. On the upside, many other companies are starting to make aftermarket upgrades to the US-5 and I could forsee many more things popping up soon.

But there are no upgrade boards for the a5 right?

there are several a-5 boards. a-5 w/ ape, vortex, qev are absolute monsters.

Oh ok.. I thought they were different egrips completely not just different boards.

You could probably mod an a5 board on but by then, you might as well have gone with an a5 anyways.

Though PCS put a lot of little tweaks that the a5 doesn't have. They don't even advertise the little things that make it a great gun.

You can also put a cyclone on a US-5 if you so desire.

They are both fantastic guns... the A5 has lots of upgrades right now as it has been out for a while but the US-5 will have a ton more soon.

Maybe you could go into a bit more detail as to what upgrades you would be getting?

You could do all that except the ape for the US-5

If you need that extra couple bps that the ape delivers, than go with the a5.

Carl 20+ would be nice.  I like to make an extra good mess of jackholes that wipe during big games.

20+ is insane at least for me

But looks like your only option at this time is the A5
