At least she wasn't molesting a little kid. A 16 year old boy may not know exactly what he's doing, but I wonder if there's any trauma there. I can't argue that it's against the law, and that there should be consequences as a result, but I do hate it when a 19 year old that sleeps with a 17 year old gets labeled a child molester, even if the younger person lied to bring it about.
She's much older and should know better. -------------

We do have many 16 (or thereabouts) year olds who will argue that they know well enough to make the choice, but they have to draw the line somewhere, and right now that line says she's in the wrong. He'll be getting high fives from his friends while she's fired and facing the repercussions.
Wherever you draw the line there will be people who push it or ignore it. -------------

What kills me is she had a stellar reputation in college. This girl was top of her class all over the place. Honors student, and all that jazz. The tosses that all in the can for a runaround with a 16 year old? As smart as she was, she's pretty friggin stupid. I've got a buddy of mine who knew her better than I did, and after this incident came to light, he got a bunch of e-mails and an IM from her that he hasn't responded to simply because he has no idea what to say. |

53k for teaching right out of school? What the hell was she teaching? Was she one of those people that were so absorbed with their schoolwork that they have no time for a life and are really emotionally 16? I've known too many former honors students go down really bad roads already to have much faith in them. Too many people have the skills to suceed acedemically, but falter with day to day people skills. |
