I should have added that all Zepplin songs worth downloading were downloaded.

I dislike ACDC... strongly.

Oh and i've browed like 10 top 50's on the net, two observations:

1) They all have the same top 50, just in different orders

2) Stairway to Heaven is number one in 90% of them

I bought the SNL Best of Will Ferrell DVD's yesterday-I've probably watched that clip ten times with my friends.

There are a ton of great classic rock songs, I haven't bothered reading anyone else's lists, but for me-

Hotel California, Lying Eyes, Tequila Sunrise, or anything else by the Eagles

As you said...any Zeppelin

Heard it through the Grapevine, Who'll Stop the Rain, Run through the Jungle, Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Someday Never Comes, Around the Bend, Fortunate Son-all by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Sunshine of Your Love-Cream

Smoke on the Water-Deep Purple

Purple Haze, Little Wing, Voodoo Chile, Machine Gun, Hey Joe, Catfish Blues, Come On-Jimi Hendrix

The End, Riders on the Storm-The Doors

Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Have a Cigar-Pink Floyd

Cocaine-Eric Clapton

Midnight Rider-Allman Brothers Band

Tuesday's Gone, Free Bird (duh)-Lynyrd Skynyrd

Hot For Teacher-Van Halen

Dreams-Fleetwood Mac

Imagine-John Lennon

Sound of Silence-Simon and Garfunkle

Whiter Shade of Pale-Percy Sledge

Like a Rolling Stone-Bob Dylan

Honky Tonk Women, Satisfaction, Under my Thumb-Rolling Stones

I could go on all day . Check out all of those artists, not just those songs. Those are just representations of what I like personally.

I do't really know, I guess that I find ACDC to be overrated for what they're worth. That's just my opinion anyways.

The terrible annoying voice of their singer (both of them, actually), and the repetitive, juvenile lyrics...

I'm going to sound like a jerk, but...

ACDC is a very overrated band.  I read an interview once where the lead singer admitted that all of their albums sound the same.  ACDC is definitely not a band that produces the best music ever.

Stairway to heaven is also overrated.  It doesn't make any sense.  Cool riffs, but also an over-hyped song.

I think most Floyd is cool... I would stay away from The Wall; it's basically Roger Waters complaining about his horrific (/sarcasm) life.

Zeppelin has some good beats, along with Dylan.

Green Onions - Booker T and the McGees and Boston songs.

Stay away from Styx, Rush, Journey, Phil Collins.

Wow someone finally said Judas Priest. Thou Priest is more 80's not Classic. I think of all of those as 70's 60's rock.

Now Classic would be some Elvis, Little Richard, Richie Valencia, Buddy Holly, and anything from the 50's.

If I never heard that song, I would have vetured further into my dad's album, but all was spoiled. Plus, I'm not a fan of Southern Rock.

Does anyone know if on rush's tour this year, they are playing any of their old songs? They are coming toronto but tickets are like $130 and that's definately not worth it if they are only playing their new cd.

Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil, Paint it Black, Satisfaction

Skynard: Free Bird

Otis Redding: Sitting on the Dock of the Bay (not really rock I guess, but a good song nonetheless)

Seger: Turn the Page

Do you consider popular music from the 80's "classic" or does it need to be older than that?

Yeah just generally rock. I put in classic because I don't want Nickelback or Creed or something like that.

I consider 80's to be "classic," since it takes so little time for music to change completely.
