My wife and I went garage sale spelunking this weekend, and bought a
bunch of stuff, including this beauty:
Tippmann 68 Carbine, PMI gloves, a couple of 100 round pods, neck
protector, straight shot squeegee, duffle bag and a couple of 9 oz. CO2
tans (most likely NOT refillable) for $40.
I cleaned it up, took off the aftermarket barrel (which I cannot identify ...
can anyone of you recognize it?) stuck an old A-5 barrel I had lying
around on it. (In case you are wondering, I stuck the A-5 adapter on it for
the heck of it!)
Worst part is the retaining tab for the foregrip is broken, so it will not stay
on. I may try and jerry-rig a vertical foregrip. Any thoughts on that would
be appreciated too.
I aired it up, and it shoots like a champ!

You hoser. That deal beats my $5.00 Spyder any day.
Could you attach a Pickatinny rail on the bottom? Aren't there foregrips made for a rail?

Been thinking about that, then getting a foregrip to attach to that.
Any other ways to mount one, I am checking into.

nice find with a good price. I rebuilt my one friends procarbine...most parts can be found on tippmanparts.com, but the grip section is a pain to take apart...so much that i didnt both taking the trigger/grip frame apart. the 68-carbine's trigger frame looks easier to take apart though as the asa is not an integral part of the frame. just take out the male 1/8npt fitting from the valve and get a 1/8 to asa extension and remove the gas line. remember to use crescent wrenches or a socket set when applicable. the person who rebuilt the procarbine before i did used vices to take it off and tighten and stripped the sides so was nearly impossible to take off. luckily i had a dremel.
the barrel resembles a Lapco barrel though. much like my bigshot...

You'll love it. Even with my A-5 and X-7, the carbine is my primary. Wouldn't switch it for the world.

That's probably one of the best used guns I've seen for sale. All the ones in my area are owned by people who didn't take good care of them, so they're getting sold as junk. Really, sweet deal.

I believe the name of the barrel is a Taso Power Series barrel.
Taso barrels aren't all that bad shooters either. Good find !

I have not put paint through it yet, but am anxious to see how this barrel
performs.
I aired up the carbine though, and it cycles magnificently.
I just need to rig up a vertical foregrip, and I'm good to go.

Banshee uses a Taso Winforce Barrel on his G36 Modded A-5. He loves it.
Very quiet barrel. Decently accurate with mid to large bore paint.
Major change from the twin coned A-5 Behemoth that he usually shoots.
The Taso barrel is a good barrel. Even though they are older, and were considered a "cheap" aftermarket barrel.
