Hi right now i have the 14" smart parts linear barrel. I am thinking about getting a new one but I am wondering which to get. I know peole say that the Flatline is picky with paint. Is the Apex like that too? If i am going to get an apex i will get the AK47 Apex because it will look freakin cool.

I'll let you know when my apex shows up at the door and I can run a test session

Jordan,

If you will just do a little search using APEX you will find about a hundred posts on the Apex barrel...its pros and cons and direct comparison to the Flatline, time and time again. All those posts will teach you a heck of a lot about barrels in general and exactly how both the Flatline and the Apex accomplish their function...and why one works better than the other. Search!!!

I've used both.  I just don't like the way the Apex drops the ball down the way it does in 'flatline' mode.  Can be problematic from the different positions I shoot from (on belly, back, side) in the woods.  I'll have to fiddle with marker's operating pressure some more as well as some adjustments to the barrel itself.  I heard from a lot of people that it "out-flatlines the Flatline", so I had to try it for myself.  First impressions for me aren't that good...
