So I've been debating getting my laptop laser etched lately. Well, not the one I have now, but I'm buying a new one this summer. Anyways, my friend and I found a place in Vancouver (where I go to school) that does it and for a good price.

Some examples:

I've been messing around in photoshop, and I could use the same design I made my wallpaper with:

So, do you think I should? If so, ideas for designs? Just black and white pics essentially.

Laser engracing is hot.
Did you see the video from MAKEfaire where they used a homemade one to do the Digg logo on Kevin Rose's macbook?

I've seen a logo covered macbook (one of which was a digg logo) as well as some with portraits, assorted company names, etc.

It gives it that mac-eco friendly placebo feel.

Borrowing from PCF's idea, I think you should have your face etched on it. Granted the apple icon would get in the way, but that could be worked around. To stray from topic a little, what laptop will you be purchasing.

EDIT: Yea, this is way to gaudy. Sometimes I forget to think before I post.

A kind of tech-abstract looking city skyline might be cool.

It varies, the place in vancouver is about $1.75 per square inch. Alot cheaper than I was expecting honestly. Also, a good sign is that the owner just did his macbook, so he knows what he's doing.

Stencil of a can of spraypaint spraying through a stencil on the laptop, kinda like the cartoons that appear to be drawing themselves..

Actually..that could be kind of neat. Also, could have the stencil peeling off, revealing the stencil half finished....I'll do some PSing at work tommorow.
